Probably not. Remember the 99+ cars have the electronic throttle.
My 99 PCM was reprogrammed with codes from a 2000 model with the Y87 package (after I put in 3:42's and posi). The programmer would probably work for me, but finances won't allow it right now.

A tech at my local Pontiac dealer (Courtesy Pontiac in Orlando) did the reprogramming. All he needed was a VIN from a car with the Y87 package. I tried posting on several BB's but didn't get any replies...that was before THIS place had gotten off the ground, I'm sure I would have had better luck nowadays. Finally I just went to the sales department and asked them to look in their computer and find me a car with Y87 codes, which they did...of course, it was a 2000 model, which didn't occur to me until afterward.
But it didn't seem to matter. The car ran fine, and the speedometer is now correct with the 3:42 gears.
That was two years ago, and I haven't had any problems yet (knock wood...)
I'm sure if you post on here you can get a VIN from someone with a 2K car that has the same options as yours. Then check with dealers in your area to see if they will do the reprogramming (many will not). It might help if you go and talk to the service techs in person, see if you can find one who is into racing and modifying cars, he might be more willing to work with you.

You can't put a 99+ (or was it 2000+) PCM in an older car because 98 and below have cable controlled throttle, whereas the 99+ (or 2000+) have electronically controlled, so you'd AT LEAST have to swap that out, which I'm sure isn't easy. What else you'd have to do- I'm not sure.

Rik - for the board - could you be so kind as to post the VIN you're using? I cannot use it but many here might could that have auto's

I need to find a 2000 Manual PCM myself - or at least the VIN. Anyone want to loan me the VIN?
