• 3rd times' a charm. New best time w/ slower trap.

Okay, last week I bested 16.3 @ 85 and hit 88mph on another run.

THis week, different track, WAY stickier. I got so close to my 15.9 goal it hurt. 16.04 @ 82.67mph!!!!

So i know I stuck better with a 2.3 60' time, and therefore I wasn't on the track long enough to get my mph up, and i'm extatic about the time, but from what i've heard here, the mph should be higher shouldn't it?

I dyno'd the car recently, 163 and 196 hp and torque repectively.

I'm going again in 2 weeks. I'll be cleaning the TB before then, and probably dropping some weight to ensure a 15 sec pass.

I was amazed how much difference in mph the 2 tracks had and that I got a quicker et on teh slower track!

    But that's racing

Tracks really seem to make a differance. Im down here in sacto and am able to run 15.8's all day and lower times in the right conditions. Try going with 1/4 tank gas or less, get the spare out and the jack. Clean the car (less dust = less drag ? )

theres lots of stuff you could try to do, good luck though. Your on your way, my first time was 16.5 hehe .

It was clean... i left the sub and jack/spare in... surely that would have done it, but I'm really trying to do this with the car the way it is an with out removing stuff I drive with.

I'll give it another shot after the TB gets' cleaned and see what happens. If I have to drop the weight on the last day of the season to get it i will

Ps.. i was running less than an 1/8th tank of gas. I barely made it to the gas station afterwards. Next time i'm taking a canister so I can run even lower ;)

hehe I do that every wednesday, I almost dont make it the 3-5 miles that it is to the gas station. I just cant stand letting the amount of gas in my tank affect my ET, so I go with the bare minimum.

I stopped driving with the jack and the tire now, perhaps not the right thing to do, but I dont feel like putting it back in, its flat ne ways so I guess it doesnt really matter.

16.0 is a good time (my first time at the track I ran a 16.8 lol) Anything from the conditions to the temperature of the car can make you lose hp (which I'm sure you know from your mods). If you're car is running hotter than normal (which mine was) you can lose up to 8 hp from what I've heard. Good luck next time, you'll hit 15s!

Thanks man. I know 16.0 is a decent time, but i've seen others with similar setups run 15.5 and I really want to match that

I'll be happy this year if I can get 15.9. And I have 2 more chances to do it.

It's been fun coming from my first race best of 16.7 that's for sure.

Especially since I didn't throw money at the problem... i worked on tuning and optimizing my conditions.

            It's been a blast.
