Well, I am happy to say that every time I have gone to the track I have gone faster and faster. The best part is all I have done to my car is a K&N 1000cfm filter. Other than that I'm 100% stock (with the 3.08s). As of October 4, 2002 I have run a best of 15.690@86.83mph!!! The thing that has got me is that this past February (2002) when it was very cold out I only ran a 15.86@86.63mph. That was my first 15 second run also. Before that date I had only run a 16.0x something. I can say I am very happy with the performance of my car!

Well, Camarorulz my torque converter is stock. So whatever that is that's what I have. The only thing that I have done to my car is that I replaced the box that holds the air filter with a K&N cone 1000cfm filter. Everything else is stock on my car. I even have all the same intake ducting conected to the K&N. I'm amazed with how my car ran. At first I thought it was a bad time put out by the track. I ran a 15.698 the first time and next round I went 15.690 *1997 Silver Camaro A4/3.08*
Best 1/4(December 17, 2003)
Race weight: 3580lbs w/driver
RT: .396 1/4: 14.93 60\': 2.08 MPH: 89.73
Mods
>Flowmaster 80 muffler (muffler only) >Homemade cold air with K&N 1000cfm cone filter >Trans-go Shift Kit >2400-2600 TCI converter
*1969 Camaro SS*
*502ci (92-octane pump gas)
*2-speed powerglide
Best 1/4:1.34 60ft 9.78@138.12mph (Aug 16, 2003)

How do you launch? Do you stall to 1800rpm'ish? Or just floor it from nothing at the light?
thanks...great times by the way. I'm trying to get 15's this year before I open the bank 1997 silver Camaro RS
|T-Type Powered|
Looking for a local F-Body club in K/W, Ontario, Canada?

Hey thanks ravenp! I'm very happy with the way my car is running. Now about the way I launch. I used to torque it to about 1800rpm...but...I have found though trying different things its not the best way for good launches with my car at least. I used to only be running like 16.0x and had 2.3x 60ft. But now I launch in the range of 1300-1500rpm. I don't ever go over 1500 now I see bad 60ft times when I do that. Oh and when I get ready to run I dont burn the tires anymore. I just punch it going up to the line to clean the tire if there is anything on them and thats it. I seem to hook much better by doing this. I think the tire has just enough heat in it from the spin it gets from that and it doesn't get slick. Hope this helps. I seen them personally too and yes all he has is the air filter. I couldn't believe it. I guess playing a practical joke and then correcting it before the run really did help. :D Ah well, congrats again man.
