Okay,.. 2001 firebird coupe with LSD, shaved air box, k+n, and SLP CAI. I should be able to take a bone stock through 1/4, correct?

I have'nt done any racing but do know most of the posts put alot of emphasis on your launch. A guy with more experience on the line will take a newbie with whatever mods. I also think (or hope) bone stock with 3.42 gears would beat a 3.08 with air intake mods.
My first Mod was the CAI. i really could not tell much difference unless i was on the highway. At lower speeds I saw no improvement over stock. For 1/4 mile racing it appears that exhaust, gears and transmission mods see the biggest improvement over stock. These are also the most expensive!
Again, I havent been sportin' my cars performance yet so somebody else is could have a different opinion.

do some v6 firebirds have diffrent gears?
3.08?
i thought they all where 3.42?

No problem. Everyone disagrees with everyone it seems when talking about air intake mods and performance gains! I only called it like i saw it.
Per the info in the modifications encyclopedia on this website, base model birds came with 3.08's.
