I'd go with more compression, my new motor is around 12:1 and we dynoed 471rwhp/ 505rwtq on pump gas.

I think Keith is going to lay down a number that nobody will beat for a long time. I'm still hoping to see more 3.8 folks get out there and try some of the same things he has...

I think I could beat Keith's stock motor times actually if I had a 3.8 car. ;)

congrats...but one question, is your car drivable on the streets?

And get a dyno buddy...with all the money you pumped into the car I'm sure $65 or whatever it costs is rather trivial. Let's see whether it's the power or the weight of your car that's giving you the upper-hand here.

John... how about we race together when I go for new N20 records... I'd be cool to race vs you.. Me low 11's you low 11's possible 10's. I will most likely break though so I'd have to trailer home..

What do you think?

I will have several people there with cameras and such. I want to capture the pass from every angle.

I drive my car all the time. Drove it to work today, yesterday.. most of the time I'm WOT too.. Man it feels good.

I really don't have that much $$$ into the car. I just have a great setup. $65 is still $65. I'd rather save the $$$ than dyno.

Lets break it down.. these prices are off the top of my head btw...

SLP CAI: 250
Ported TB/Intakes: 50
Heads: 750
Cam: 300
Pushrods: 100
Valve springs: 350 but you can get better for 175 so lets use 175
Headers: 325 (back in the day)
Converter: 325 used
TransGo: 100
Cooler: 50
Alum Driveshaft: 305
4.10 Gear: 170 (Most new cars come with LSD already)
MAF T+: 260 (Not used on 13.6 pass though)
Wheels + Tires: 900

That comes out to $4060.

Autotap is really needed too.. so thats about 200.

I have gauges but thats mainly for nitrous.

Figure 500 for misc install costs.

I also have $$$ into R&D but I won't count that cause I've done the R&D to help out.

Minus heads/cam stuff and its 2735. I went 14.0 NA without heads/cam.

There ya go.

if you are going to blow the motor on the track, yeah it's cool and all, but it ruins the day for the rest of the racers there. Or until they can get all the oil off of the track. Anyways, good luck and don't kill yourself.

nice ET keith. you have included your current setup in that price list though...what about your 3.42 rearend you built up, and then the 3.73 gear and other misc. things like exhaust work and the expensive B&B triflow?

let me know when you plan on heading to the track, maybe we can run a new best against each other again ;)

I consider the other gears R&D.. if somebody wants to run my setup thats what it costs.

I don't use the B&B at the track.

I really am looking forward to running #'s on nitrous.. they WILL be my last.. I am seriousely ready to retire. Software engineering is taking up much of my time.. and its time to bring Dx Software to life.
