First time at track...results within

Our club had a gathering at Mid America Raceway today...the old car did fairly well. I was the only V6 representing the club..the rest were V8's.

R/T .946 (wasn't really concerned with this one...wanted a good run. I did manage a .509 to prove to myself I could do it...but it was also my slowest track time. lol)

I had serious traction problems...spun through first badly with the all season Yokohama's. The car had a lot more in it if I could have hooked up. Weather was in the low 50's with well over 80% humidity and rained all morning until after 1:00 I know that didn't help my times or traction problems either. All in all I am very pleased with the times. My car isn't a drag car and this may be the only time I take it to the track for a long time. Just turned over 94k miles and ground second every pass...my 2nd gear synchro is out. Also had 3/4 a tank of gas and spare tire in, not bad times if I say so myself.

Thanks...I know I surprised a few of my V8 clubmembers...they did not know a V6 could run that good, especially on a stock motor with that many miles on it. If I ever hit the track again I am borrowing some better tires, I spun way too much.

I don't know shortdog...I was all over the place...got there at 9 or so, and left at 5:30. I was with the MOFBA crew, it is kind of hard to miss my car. lol I didn't see yours either. It was a fun day of racing, I just wish I could get some traction, looks like it is time for the LSD.
