• New Best Times!!!

Well, once again my car has made me very happy with what it ran. Every time I have gone I have beat my previous best time. Well, last night I ran a 15.57@87.59mph. I can say how happy I am with how my car ran. I mean I really dont even have anything done to it to talk about. Just a K&N filter and flowmaster 80 muffler. All of it has cost me under $100 also. Thanks to my cousin. If I had 3.42s last night instead of the 3.08s what do you all think I could have seen in ET?

That's awesome man! 3.42's could get you really low 15's...

My best with a similar setup is 15.84... way to go!

What was the weather like? Did you spin the tires at all launching? Do you stall it, or just hammer the pedal?

    THanks.

Thanks ravenp! The weather was very good (temp. in the mid 60s I would say and humidity was maybe in the mid-upper 50%) on that run and the run before. The first I had was a 15.66@87.46mph but I spun a little. The next I got my 15.57@87.59mph. I had a great start that time a 2.241 60 foot. I launch by stalling the car to just a little above idle, like to about 1300rpm. I have found going higher resulted in slow 60ft times and 1/4 times because of the stock converter. By my stalling the engine higher it had no room to flash on take off.

are you sure you don't have 3.42s? Those times are 3.42 stock territory buddy. Check your RPO codes on the door. It should say GU6 for ya IMO.

Sorry 99Camaro99 my car says GU4. I have already thought that. I was very unhappy when I found out that I had only 3.08 gears. Plus my first times to the track I couldn't do any better than a 16.0 something and my 60ft sucked. I have changed my launch and now 60ft is great and so are the times. Also my RPMs at 70 are at only 2100 and I don't have posi. So I know for sure I have 3.08s
