• I need to beat a 2k1 Corvette.

My dad's friend bought a 2k1 Corvette. Not a Z06. Its an auto. He is talking mad crap and I would love it if I could just beat him. I have a lot of pressure on me right now because my dad bet him $100 I could beat him. ON the street. Not the track. I would be willing to spray 100 shot or more for 1 race just to beat this vette. I also want to gut the enterior of everything. Maybe even run without a hood. I will do anything it takes but I need to beat this vette. any ideas?

    The vette is BONE stock.

gut the interior.. run WITH a hood.

    pull front sway bar.

Borrow nittos or slicks, traction will be the BIG factor.

Spray a 100 shot. Don't hit it too soon or you'll lose traction.. make sure you don't hit the limiter.

Magnus I need your honest opinion. You can see my mods in the sig and on my website. Do you think I have a chance spraying 100 shot? Should I run race gas or pump?

I'm not an expert on nitrous, but be careful you don't run too lean with that 100 shot.

If running lean is not a concern then yea I think you can run a 100 shot.. I'd just do a test to watch your air/fuel ratio in third gear.

Your setup looks nice. Any track #'s with smaller shots? What do stock vettes run up there at the track?

Don't compare it to elsewhere, your elevation sucks.

                    Corvette's up here run low 14's. Before heads/cam and with a 75 shot I ran 15.0 @ 85mph missing 4th gear shift and coasting accrossed the finish line. And I ran a crappy 2.4 60'. I believe before heads/cam with 75 shot I could pull a 14.6 or so. Just a guess.

100 shot you should be even with him..

TRACTION will be key.. If he's on stock tires and your on slicks heated up.. you should have the edge.. just don't miss a shift and don't hit the limiter.

don't forget to unplug two of his spark plugs so it's like he's a six cylinder.

Also if you're spraying a 100 shot DON'T go dry, go WET.
