• Oh, yeah, 13's baby!

Technically, up until now my best 1/4 was 14.1 since it has been about a year and a half. I have ran the 1/8 quite a few times so I knew about what I should run. Track was ok, but far from sticky. Race weight was 3650. I had a half tank(poor planning on my part) of 50%105 and 50% 93. Nitto drags were on.

My best run was:
60ft- 2.058
1/8th et- 8.626
1/8 mph- 82.51
1/4 et- 13.348
1/4 mph- 103.73

I could have been in the 13.2 or even 13.1 range with a better 60ft and less fuel. Oh well, I am pretty happy though. :D

wow that's one fast GTP buddy. Congrats

isn't a pain that our 3.8 motors don't have much topend tho. For 13.3 in the V8 F-bods they trap more like 107/108. Still that's one helluva time!

dee--bro, AWESOME time, but i still think you should get a converter and knock those times into the 12s easily...

I don't think a converter would do much unless I had slicks(which I won't go to until I beef up my high mileage tranny) ;) . On this run, I spun lightly and other runs I had to let out of it a couple of times and was spinning well beyond 60ft. Even with drag radials, I was only able to go WOT after I was already doing around 20mph. On one of my other runs(13.4, 13.5) I didn't get to WOT until 35 or so due to too much spinning. It was street night, so the track wasn't in top condition.

Peak torque on the GTP is around 2500rpm, and I launch between 2000-2500rpm anyways. If I had to guess I am somewhere in the 340-370 ft-lb range. Which unfortunately I can't use it all with drag radials and FWD.

If I can lose about 20lbs myself  , run with an 1/8 tank instead of 1/2, drain the washer fluid, get rid of the laptop, camcorder, floor mats. Then get to the track when some big tire cars are running and get a 1.9ish 60ft(which I have done before). I might have a shot. Also my O2's for some reason were .95-.98(way rich), and if I dial them back to normal may net another 10hp or so. I might try and go first of next year when it should be a little less humid.

The closest 1/4 track is over 2 hours for me, which would suck if I break.

Thanks for all the compliments, maybe I will find 12's sometime in the near future. That would be a big accomplishment for me since I don't have headers yet. For now I will have to settle for the fastest GTP in north Texas. I know it bugged a couple of guys since they have cams, etc. :D

Sorry if I sound to "braggy", I have been waiting for a long time for an "official" 13 second slip.

ok, converter may not be the best choice, so go for slicks anyway!!! i need them, cause my DR's spin too much too, so we'll both get some!!! edit: (and that means sexually too)
