I think this is part of the culprit for my lowsy d/r 60's. I never can get a good burnout because the car starts drifting to the side. I have to let off and pull through early because I'm almost completely sideways. What causes this and how do I prevent it? Would line locks help?

dont worry about doin a burnout.
your sliding a bit b/c one wheel is gettin more power than the other or some crap. get posi!
you dont need to do a huge smoke show. Just spin em quickly to clean em off and warm them up a bit.
Otherwise, your just loosing milage on the tires.-Justin-
Red 1996 Camaro RS- Wrecked 11-1-03...

1991 Camaro RS

wrong he has drag radials he needs to make um smoke the best thing would be a line lock so u can lock the front breaks soild and the rears have no pressure on them makes burnouts so much easierSICK-SIXX MEMBER
NA 14.345 with a 1.863 60 foot
Nitrous 13.03@99.5 with a 1.63 60 foot

2000 Camaro 3.8L A4: USE TO HAVE Comp Cam 210/220 .535/.547 113lsa 111 I/C, Port and Polished Heads, NX Wet Kit 100 Shot, CPRA made by CP, RK Sport Headers

As mentioned by slacker (and in my original post, that's what I meant by "d/r") I'm on drag radials. I DO NEED a big smoke show. Also I'm not just sliding "a bit" ... I'm really pulling. The rear always moves to the left. As for more power going to one wheel, I have a torsen differential (a pretty new one at that), so that should not be the case.

Another thing just occurred to me... this only happens when I have the drag radials on. Street tires this doesn't happen.-Travis
99 Trans Am, Pewter, A4 Forged, stalled, and cammed
85 Buick Regal WH1 T-Type It\'d be cool if it ran...
94 Camaro 3.4, Teal, M5 The daily beater

they grip better..more weight it on the left side so the left tire (when cold) is gonna get more traction and will heat up faster try a counter weight ;) ...naa....um maybee change the air pressure, add a little more air to left tire when its cold 1-2 psi...might work?...just a guess...hope ya figure it out ;)

I'm with Nikon, add a few psi's to Mr. Lefty so he doesnt grip as well... it will keep it from going left on you
If you need to, lightly pull on the Ebrake during the burnout with a linelock to keep it under control.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
