• Stcok M5 drag help?

I know Im a mod here, but I'm finally going to get some good drag times tomorrow at a real 1/4 mile strip

No more weenie 1/8 mile - Im about to go full 1/4 :D

Im on stock GA crap rubber and have my torsen ready to go... Anyone have any cold weather tips since it'll be like 55 out? Is there a good stock time for M5s I should expect - maybe trap speed? I'm not quite sure what to look for in my times to know if I'm doing well stock. I was thinking 15.5 or better would be good, but I don't know what mph to look for...

    thx :D

Will I get better times if I undo my front swaybar insulators?

      Hey Dominic,
All I have doce to mine is some intake stuff, and I was turning 15.4 @ 90mph in the quarter when the temps were about 80 deg and 80-90% humidity. I was really hoping to get back to the track with some cooler temps, but never got the chance. Oh well, there is always next year. My 60ft times were around 2.2 seconds. I would launch at about 2000-2500 rpms, and cross the finish line in third gear at around 5200rpm I think. I don't know about the swaybars...

Good luck, and let us know how you do!!!

Edit - That 60ft time was 2.1 sec, not 2.2...Oops

I would be happy in the 15s with a stock car. I don't know a lot about your car so I can't tell you a whole lot more.

I'm really hoping to be in the 14s tonight

I was on my crappy Cooper Cobra 235/55/16 and I pulled a 2.0 60'. I launched at 3,000 RPM and just dumped it and went. I peeled out for a little but it was the fastest way for me to get out of the whole. I crossed the finish line in the low end of 4th gear. I went 16.05@87, this is at 4,800 ft. elevation corrected et is 15.09@92.5, this was with very little mods, whisper lid Holley air filter and 3 inch flowmaster catback.

I would think you should be capable of a low 15. Good luck and keep us posted.
