How big can we go with ET streets?

A buddy of mine is selling a set of almost brand new MT ET streets on Weld wheels for about $475. He was thinking that they were 13.5" wide on 15" rims. Hes going to get me the exact numbers this weekend.

They DO fit on a stock wheel well, 3rd gen racecar.

I was thinking of trying them out to see how they work before I buy them, I am almost certain they will be too much tire, but I can't hook for **** right now.

What do you guys think? What is the approximate retail value on these?

I think you will need to know the back spacing before that can be answered.
I have made a lot of money in my life, most of which I spent on cars and women.<p>The rest I have blown.

You want as little as tire as possible while still dead hooking. ANy more than that will slow you down.

I wouldn't run any larger than a 15x8 wheel. I also recomend a nitto for all NA applications. When you do power adder stuff is when a V6 will need more tire than a Nitto.

Are you still dead hooking the nitto's on the 13.6 runs?

I was considering some sticky ET Streets so I could do a 5,000 RPM dead hook, Think Nittos would hold up to that?

Whats do you guys think of BFG drag radials? My first choice is BFGs or Nittos on a spare set of salad shooters I have.

What are the pros and cons of each?

The ET Streets are just very convinient and I still may test them out to see what they will run.

On my 13.6 passes I would skip just once.

Nittos last longer on the street than BFG's.. BFG's supposedly hook a little better.

I think nittos on a 15" wheel air'd down should hook a 5K clutch dump.

i dont think the rear will hold that.. rear cant really hold up to ET streets and high launch's

my BFG's grab hard..i think im going to get another set of them if i need new tires..

and if the ls1's can hook with drag radials your V6 certainly can

I don't recall if M/T makes a 26x13.5x15 ET Street. I know they make a 28x13.5x15 ET Street. I'll buy them if they are 28's maybe.

IMO you will only bog like crazy out of the whole and might even hurt your clutch if it's stock.

I'd run ET Streets if you had a lot of gear and/or a power adder.

                    From their website...

                    ET Streets:

                    3752 26 x 10.50-15 M5 20 8.5 9552 10.5 8.3 26.1 82
                    3753 26 x 11.50-15 M5 22 10.0 9552 12.0 9.8 26.3 82
                    3754 28 x 11.50-15 M5 22 8.5 9552 11.1 8.6 27.6 87
                    3755 28 x 12.50-15 M5 24 10.0 9554 12.6 10.0 28.1 88
                    3757 28 x 13.50-15 M5 27 10.0 9554 13.2 11.0 28.0 88

Also 3rd gen wheels will stick out on our 4th gens.
