  • Help! I Need to beat a 95 v6 mustang!

    Hey guys!

Help! lol A kid at school today asked me to race him this weekend, and I want to know if I stand a chance? Its a V6 automatic 95 mustang, all riced out, with a new engine. ( he lost his last one due to an oil leak and never noticed the pressure hit 0, then blew some rods or something didnt really hear it first hand ) anyways, You can check out my times below, but that is before my SLP CAI, also the car was hitting about 210+ degrees when I ran it, stupid staging lanes, but Thats all fixed now ( flushed, new water pump, acc. belt, 180 degree thermo, and fan switch )

    Thanks!

if the engine is the same as his stock one, you will smoke him.

if the engine is a new v6, you still have a very, very good chance at winning.

I dont think it really matters how hot your engine is in this case (unless its on fire), considering that you have like 55 more horsepower. I can take those in my 160 horse 3.4. Good luck

That is the exact car I had before my firebird. Trust me, you will put him down if you can just not squeel the whole time. If anything, stay below your regular RPM for a launch, and just make sure you do things right. It's 145 HP stock, and the automatic on ford's are just very poor. You will destroy him. He might pull on you in second. Fords have a good second gear, and your 3.08's won't be too strong in his 2nd range. But that will just prolong the inevitable.

End all Story: You will win, just don't spin.

heres how slow those stangs are...i had a 84 Toyota truck w/173000 miles on it, i could pull on an automatic 97 V6 mustang in first and second then he would slowly pull on me in 3rd gear and beat me by one length...you'll burn his *** .....

in your car, while you are sitting and idling turn on your AC, it automatically kicks in your cooling fan and will cool your motor a bit, not sure about you guys, but my engien being hot oru cold is very noticeable. Maybe even turn the thing all the way to read to use the heater core as a second radiator.

jsut turn off the AC, when you race, doesn't matter too much if you keep it on but I just woiuld rather have it off.

                    btw you shoudl take him.

You will whoop his *** bad. The 95 especially if an auto and stock is a high 16 sec car.

                        You have nothing to fear.

And this info is coming from a v6 mustang owner.
