• 14 sec timeslip!!!

so i got my bmr boxed lca's in today, and matt, adam, and i installed them this afternoon. then at the last minute, we thought up an ingenious idea on how to scam the people at the track! we decided i could get in the trunk and we could pay for just one person and not two!!! well, they were kidding, but i wasn't so, we go put my nitto's on the maro, and we drive to seguin 60 miles away. 10 miles before the exit, i get out of the car and get in the trunk at a very popular seguin gas station--and i've got about a million people staring at adam and matt as they shut the trunk while i'm in it!!!! anyway, it was crazy in that trunk. we get there and i run 8 times, 5 of which my nitto's proved quite worthy. the other 3 times they spun pretty bad. all my times were centered around 15.0 in some way. my best was:

60 ft: 1.98
1/4: 14.98
mph: 88.53

well, i was happy with a 14. i ran against a 01 camaro with an m5 and intake/exhaust. he ran a 15.4 (his best of the night) at about ~90 mph, while i ran a 15.03@88.7, and i ripped up on him off the line, then again in second gear it appeared i pulled a little on him. either way, it was a fun night out, and now my car has rubber all over the back of it.

btw, my burnouts were LOOONNNGGG and smoky, and waterless, and carried about 30 ft :D and except for 3 of the 8 runs, they hooked great the other times. the boxed lca's were great, they kept me on the ground every single run, awesome mod! w00t!

i'm just awaiting to be criticized by those who keep tellin me "a "blah blah blah e.t." is a slow time for a converted car!" ah, o well.

btw ross--i think i will keep the nittos, they hooked like i didn't think they would :D

congrats on the new best. i still think you have a little more left in the car. your 60' can probably get a little lower with that big converter you got in the car, but it takes time to master launching the car with a big converter, hell i am still learning. i am positive that when you can get the car to dead hook you should hit mid 14's easy!

ya, it isn't that easy. i'll tell you what though, those boxed lca's really did A LOT for me. before, my best time at seguin (without converter) was 15.5 and matt (who had the same mods as me) had a 15.7 the elevation there isn't great, but the better elevation at temple doesn't make up for it's crappiness of a track. i dunno, everytime i go to seguin, i have the top end problem, and my top end seems to die out; of course, so do all the other fbods that i am with. so cause of that, i know that it isn't necessarily due to me having a slow car or the fact that my converter isn't efficient enough--i just know the track isn't in the best setting. o well, something not really to worry about. i've done my goal of the 14 sec car by christmas, so that's all i care for now...maybe in the future i'll grab the nitto's and drive up to hrp for a night. who knows. hehe.

oh man you should totally get it, you will be very happy.

when i lined up to the start line i thought to myself "man i'm gonna spin again." so the second the light hit and i let off at 2500 rpms my car went flying and i nearly had a heart attack!!! i hadn't been used to that hard of a launch ever!!! omg it was great, and i didn't hop any!!! hehe, such a cool feeling. now i gotta work on horsepower...cause it actually feels like it's dying cause i launch SO hard and then i just fade into the power of a v6...haha.

Seeeeeeeeeeeee
We knew that car could hook!!!!!!
Congrats!!!!!!!!!
Boxed trailing arms really do help!!!
What psi did ya have? (front and rear tires)
I've seen better results with snapping the tires in the water box, roll out, hit the line locks and then do the burn out.
Also I stall it to 2900 off the line.
See, practice will make ya go quicker.
Nitto's do need a long burnout!!!
How much gas in there?
Launch higher next time and leave Adam in the trunk

Again, congrats!!!
It will only go quicker with practice

i had nearly a full tank of gas!!! i think that hurt me a bit down the road. also, 42 psi on front tires (only cause of matt's miscalculation lol) and i also had the rears to 19. i stalled the converter everywhere all night and the results were mostly the same. it's funny, of all the cars there...guess what? i had the best burnouts hahaha, like 8 secs long and then i carried them. hehe, thx james!!!

oh ya, and once i tried to launch at 3300...yep, i spun. lol, and adam couldn't fit in the trunk.

let me tell you what though, it is scary to be in that trunk...very dark, can't see anything. and SOOOOOO MUCH NOISE!!!! my exhaust isn't even that loud....UNTIL YOU ARE IN THE TRUNK lol.

I usually have the same front tire psi.
And also rear tire psi for drag's.
If the full tank of gas worked then stick with it and slowly run less and less gas each time until you figure out what works best.
I am trying to go back to the track and due to my serious lack of traction I have a FULL tank of gas

It is all about figuring out what works best for your car

you are very right. i need some nitto's for daily drivers...too bad they don't last longer. that would be nice if i pulled up next to a car to race, just do a burnout at the light and go

Man, last night was great. While evan was racing, people standing nearby were commenting on how good he was doing for a V6.

And after riding in that thing with the nittos on....all I can say is RUTHLESS
