Broke some records tonight....

first had some misfires down the track, and SES light on half the runs... read about my EGr problem in gen tech and other v6 boards..

well first, I beat my personal record I have been trying to beat which is a sub 10 second 1.8th... i hit a 9.970, and a 9.971.

all so got a new 1/4 mile best of a 15.661@86.32, which is a new personal best, and Beats James Montigny former NRT car's time of a 15.677, which bumps me up to 2nd place for N/A 3.4Ls.

And anotehr record which is crazy is I hit a 15.611 twice! once at 86.28, and once at 86.32 mph, what are the odds of that.

here is the whole timeslip, I alos ran full wieght, jsut minus spare and jack, all suspension hooked up and operational, only thing differnect then daily driving was tire pressures.

R/t 0.819
60 ' 2.131
330 6.418
1/8 9.970
mph 70.55
1000 13.053
1/4 15.661
mph 86.32

I submitted my times to magnus, actually both my 15.661 timeslips are scanned. also 94Grayv6(mnot sure if he posts here) at www.camaroz28.com witnessed this and anasazi(LT1 guy I know doesn't post here) at www.camaroz28.com if witnesses are needed.

Hey those are awesome times  . Congrats!!!
I went to the local 1/8th mile track with friends for the first time tonight. I had never been to watch drag racing before. Wednesday's are open track night and its only $5 to spectate, +$10 to race. I only saw one 4th gen LT-1 Camaro, running 8's. There was a lot of old muscle running 6's and 7's. It was very cold out, so everyone was running great. I didn't bring my car. I wanted to get a feel for the track and the way things proceed before I decide to race. I hear a 3.4 will run 10's in the 1/8th? I just have Moroso CAI and Flowmaster. What should I run? I'd love to get into the 9's. What would a 50-85hp shot of nitrous make me run?

I know what they are.... Leaky EGR shooting wxhaust on to wires... I ahve had the problem before, jsut tightened down bolts last tiem but htis time a bolt is snapped, and a hard to reach place too. I have new wires in my backseat, just don't wanna install them and fry them before I fix the EGR thing.

We should race at some point...then again I'd be embarassed if I lost to a 3.4L.

very impressive for both a 3.4 and for an engine that has over 100k miles! good work!

I'd race you not sure if ti will be the 20th...

I work at a theater and lord of the rings comes out on the 18th or something like that and I am going home for christmas around midnight on the 22nd form Orlando.

Problem is morroso is a good 2.5 hour drive for me, I can get to Orlando Speed world in 15 min., Gainesvillle speedway in 1.5 hours, maybe Brandenton in 1.5 hours.

hmm jeez if I got peopl calling me out I get to get back to the track and get my R/ts back down, this .6-.7 crap is unacceptable.

bummer that sucks. I only mention the 20th because it's midnight madness (6pm-2am) and it's the last time to race for the year (until February that is). Also a lot of V8 F-bodies are going that night to race grudge matches. All in all it would be awesome. If you change your mind at some point let me know. BTW, you can probably beat me because lately I can't top a 15.6...then again I could be B.S.ing to lead you on...you never know!
