• Wanna see what a stock gtp runs?

Decided to hit the last test-n-tune @ TMS to get some base times in the gtp before the modds begin.

My best of 4:

r/t: 1.383
60': 2.183
330': 6.062
1/8th: 9.318@75.15
1/4th: 14.49@94.42

Not too shabby i think for a completely stock gtp, eventhough i got to the track late so i couldn't really let my motor cool down sufficiently between each run, & it was high 60's outside.

For comparison purposes motortrend lists them at 15.1@90.81

Typically the stock ones run mid 14's
With a cool down and ice I've seen them run low 14's (14.2)

What were your other times?

That's good times Night Rider! If you would have lowered that 60' you could have probably knocked another .2 off your time. Some cooler temps would have helped even more.

I really wish I would have gotten the chance to run mine stock.

Not really. If i only wanted a low-et drag car i woulda bought a no-optioned Z28 for $24k. The vette IMO is the perfect balance btwn comfort, speed, handling, & looks. Nevertheless i can probably knock a few tenths off w/ a better lunch & some trac prep tricks i have learned since then. Then w/ around $2k in modds should be solid 12's then spray to 11's. It would take alot to get my gtp into 11's.

I wish I would have run my gtp stock, but I didn't. I ran a 13.8 with borla exhaust, dhp pcm, 3.25" pulley, and a homemade pvc intake. It was also very humid and hot outside (florida) and it just finished raining, but the track was open. I just ordered headers, so I have to go get a new time. Good luck with the gtp. They are easy to make fast and not many people expect it

Jeez, sometimes you REALLY can be an *** !!
You really can't compare a gtp to a c5.
GTP v6 supercharged, 4 door, drives fine in snow yada yada yada yada
C5 v8 n/a, 2 door, status symbol, 30+ mpg, handling close to 1.0 g's!!

I'm not going to even bother with this

Agreed, and he shouldn't bother trying.
