• New best 15.3 spinnin, but now i need new tires...

..well first run of the night I didnt touch the tires no burn outs get up to the lights stalled it to 2200, lit em up for about 30 feet, oh ya before I went out tonight I had about 6000 miles left on my back tires I now have maybee 1000....anyways I ended up runnin a 16.1  , and my friends RSX-S ran a 14.9!!!! happy for him hes finally figuring out how to drive the thing, as for the second run I lowered my tires to 21psi and did a small burnout to clean em off a bit stalled it to 2200 again....spun again!!! this time I raced a camaro exactly like mine w/ less stuff dont to it and he ran a 15.1...if I could ever hook I might get better times but that run was a 15.3...I can do so much better but now I gotta buy new tires cause these are now shot   so pissed, I think I might go back into some nails and get tire kingdom to buy me a new set :D

EDIT: any ideas how I could hook better? should I just stall it lower or what, even lower tire pressure?

Hee hee, true, very true
Well, try launching off idle first to see if you hook

I've always used 30 psi on street tires in the back and 40 in front

Avoid the water box, go around it and just a small spin of the tires to clean them off, nothing john force like.

Run more gas, 1/2 tank?

Keep the spare tire and jack in the back

Try a search in the drag racing section, there are MANY little tips that can be found in here
You will go quicker, also practice helps

Hopefully you have drag radials, because if you are doing 30 ft burnouts on street tires you are wasting your time and tires. The answer is simple, invest in some nittos.

From what it looks like he's making more power than you are. Maybe his car is a freak. But even though your MPH is slightly higher, that is due to the fact that you spun so much. If you pulled the same 60' as he did I bet you'd be 1 or 2 mph slower than he was.

you're stalling TOO high! I did that and pulled 15.7s all day with 2.3 60'. Stall it to 1700 and then release the brake and floor it for 2.1s. You're really moving now...I still have you beat tho!

Personally my experience is you ned a little heat in the tires... well at my track its usually a about a 45 min. to hour between runs.

I go around the water box.... back up a little to where peaple dragged water out of water box, pop clutch, slam brakes, then let off and ride it out.

not really a brake stand but a drive out. Cleans tires a little, and I got out to see if it gave them any heat and it does. You do not need much more then that.

And when I mean back up to the water box I do not mean get in it... at my track water jsut gets sprinkled but the ground is slightly wet, that is where I spn the tires.

Yeah, a lot of times slower '60 ft times result in faster mph. That '60 is hurting your et, as you know. I would stall it lower, maybe at around 1800, just before the point where the tires would start to break loose.
