• Racing an RSX tonight. Suggestions?

Ok, I will be racing almost a full quarter mile against a friend who has a 2001 RSX, NOT type-s.It is stock, he has stereo stuff in the back of it, and it is a manual. My mods and such are listed in my signature. I am figuring that I will win, but I want to know what I should do to make it a solid victory for me. I will remove tire and jack, gas tank has only about 2-3 gallons, but is there anything else I can do that doesn't take too long to do better? Thanks.

-Justin

P.S. Mostly, I am doing this to show him that my $16,000 Pontiac is better than his $21,000 Acura. :D

You'll whoop him unless he has more goodies under the hood that he didn't tell you about.

if you want remove the air filter just for the race, or do the free ram air mod and gut yuor whisper lip. ask around, there are free mods for better air flow and that should net a tenth or 2 better

Ive whooped on 3 type-s cars now. They were probably bs drivers but I havent had any problems with them yet. Although I knw that they can be quick and that people here have last to them. But I wouldnt worry type s or not, just get a good launch.

i used to have a rsx type-s before i got my camaro and i would get my *** kicked by z28's i am talking they would beat me by like 10 car length so our v6's should be able to blow them away

btw the type-s has a 6 speed not a 5

Dude, Why even mod it, u can beat him even if he his lightly mod'd. Those things are so overrated. Off the line You will destroy him. If I were right before you race just "be like dude, I dunno your car is pretty nice , blah blah blah (blow smoke up his *** ). Then just destroy him. Makes the victory much better.
The RSX Type-S are only quick on the topend, thats all they have.
Have fun.

by the way... The only way you seen a rsx run a low 14 stock is if it was a "JDM RSX Type R",There pretty quick but to import them or do the motor swap is expensive as ****. That RSX you saw wasnt stock.

yeah, it happened a long time ago, but I won. We ran twice, once from a 10 roll, once from a stop. From a stop I got him by 7-9 lengths. From a roll, I got him by about 4-5.
