Actually i ran a 14.48@92 mph is my best time and this is before the supersix powerpack and bigger injectors and motor rebild and tranny rebuild on a 2800 stall now i have a 3600 stall, and a few other mods done including a comp .500 220/224 114ls cam im in the process of getting my car back together, the paintjob is complete, the engine and tranny are in and im now waiting on the walbro pump i would say in about 2 wekks or so i should have it on the road, i will be at ais2. I was there last year with the black 91 gmc jimmy that i could have pushed off the line quicker than it was coming off :D Oh well i do have a good bit of track experience honestly couldnt guess how many runs, well over 500 i would say, lol 18 of them were at ais 1 in the jimmy :D Just noticed me and you have close to the same n/a et thats kinda cool

the debate was whether or not waiting 2 hours and pushing a car up to the line will make a difference as opposed to waiting for the engine to cool some, starting it and keeping the hood open through the staging lanes.

no one has even answered that question yet. everyone on here is talking about a bunch of ice and sh!t.

when i was at the track, with the 160 thermo, i let my car cool one time, from the moment i got there to the moment i ran the first time (bout an hour) which was plenty cause there was a lot of wind and it was chilly and i parked facing the wind so it'd blow off my engine heat. i ran a 15.00 with no spin the first run, and after that, my worst was a 15.12 when i was spinning. and i ran the car nonstop from that point on, i didn't turn it off once nor did i pop the hood. but i kept the fans on and kept the 160 thermo on 160 the whole time.

i suppose with pre 98s it could be different, since the filters are located away from the engine, and the air they grab is cooler anyway. regardless, it proved to not hurt my e.t.'s much at all; i think the .12 second was probably due to the spinning more than that of the engine temperature difference.

I think 12sec summed it up pretty well. It may not help a LOT but if you are trying to set a new personal best..

Why even mod if you aren't trying to get a faster time?
