• New Best N/A, New best Nitrous, and 150 shot sprayed

When I arrived at the track around 6pm there was a total of 15 cars there and the same amount was there when I left, which was very good. I decided to make a N/A run since the temp was hovering around 21. First run of the night was a new N/A best, im finnaly learning how to launch with this converter

R/T:.616
60':1.923
330':5.901
1/8:9.186
mph:74.37
1000':12.015
1/4:14.423
mph:94.13

It was cold as hell so I wasnt expecting to hook at all when I sprayed, luckily I am very close friends with the track manager and sweet talked him into preping the track very well for me, he made the starting line very sticky and I actually hooked very well on my first nitrous run which was a 100 shot, and was a new best I might add

R/T:.510
60':1.851
330':5.362
1/8:8.104
mph:84.79
1000':10.616
1/4:12.646
mph:108.36

After that run I wanted to spray the 100 again, but I decided to go ahead with the 125. By this time the temp had dropped to 19 and the wind was pretty stiff which made it even colder, at least it wasnt a head wind but it was a cross wind which was almost as bad. I heated the tires up very well, I was almost certain it would spin badly although my M/T ET Streets only had 3 prior passes on them, all N/A. To my surprise it hooked up very well and to my surprise I pulled this time

R/T:.723
60':1.822
330':5.333
1/8:8.046
mph:84.33
1000':10.645
1/4:12.828
mph:108.53

Ok so what happened, seems it fell off on top end and I still really don't know what happened, it didnt seem to quit pulling hard at all *scratches head* I decided I would spray 125 again, I was baffled as to what happened and didnt want to miss an opportunity to lay down a solid run.

R/T:.597
60':1.793
330':5.301
1/8:8.016(almost 7's)
mph:85.77
1000':10.598
1/4:12.613
mph:101.22

Why the low mph you ask, the car fluttered and I shut it down, and damn what a run I had goin :( Still coasted to a new best but there will always be the thought of what might have been! After that I was a little pissed about the whole thing and decided to go ahead and slap the 150 shot jets in. Going in I figured I may be able to spray 175, however I didnt but I did make 1 run on 150, and it went a little something like this

R/T:.775
60':2.014
330:8.786
1/8:
mph:
1000:
mph:
1/4:
mph:

The extent of the damage is unknown, it reved high and died, but it still cranks and no fluids were lost All in all it was a sucessful night, im happy and now the big project begins, new motor is about 50% done, all I need to do is figure out what im going to do about heads/cam, oh and can you say forged internals and a massive diet ;)

Sorry to hear the engine went but that is the best way to go, spraying at the track
I can't even hook on a 100 shot?!?!?!?!
On the 125 it is either hit or miss, spin's and feels great top end or spins and feels a bit iffy.
First time with the 125 I spun to the 1/8 mile mark on crappy et streets
I didn't have the guts to do the 150 because I can't hook on a 125 let alone a 100.

Well, congrat's on new times

i think his story of what happened when 3.8 and nitrous mix obviously signifies NOT to do a 150 shot very often ;)

The timeslip page says I run 4.10's but I run 3.73's don't know how that happened ;) Other mods include, SLP CAI, MSD-DIS 4 Ignition, Trans Go Shift Kit(stage 2) Zexel Torsen LSD, GM Motive 3.73 gears, 3200 Super Yank Converter, Magnaflow Cat Back(no cat) Walbro 255lt/hr fuel pump(installed last Sunday for this occasion) 26x10.5 M/T ET Streets(rear) 22.5x4.5 Skinnies(front)

Just Figured I would answer this question before it was asked, although its been asked many times before :D

Also my MSD box is buzzing louder than normal, anybody else ever have this problem? Im thinking my ignition could have led to my motors early death, guess it just saved it from the 175-200 death

Maybe a dual stage N2o would fix your traction problems. Ever considered that?

CONGRATS ON NEW TIMES> You got balls to do what you did.

thank you, that is good stuff. i got my boost-a-pump going in tommorow and i got my slicks and skinnies last week from jegs. i'll be spraying a 100 shot and maybe a 125. i'm not coming home till i hit the 12's. i pretty much have the same setup as you, except i have a high-flow cat...man i can't get over on your trap speed with the stock manifolds..

also what was your bottle pressure at. i'm thinking i might juice at 1150

ohh how my degrees of retard were you running.

I like to run around 1050, never any less sometimes a little higher. I have never used autotap so I dunno how many degrees of knock retard I am getting
