I used my friends G-tech last night and did about 10 runs in different places both directions. I got a consistant 16.8 and also got a 16.6 so I'm assuming a 16.7 I know G-techs aren't reliable but does that sound like a decent time for being a mile high?

Shrug I ran a 15.5 @ 90 on the gtech and 15.6 @ 89 at the strip. I also deadhooked with the gtech on the street somehow and I don't think I've ever done that at the strip.
This was when I had 3.08's.

Don't know how close this is, but I ran it through an old dragrace ET predictor called Density. Just picking some numbers, here's what happened:
70 deg, 63 humidity, 30.00 barameter, 3200lb car
16.700 @ 88 mph at 3000 ft
16.326 @ 89.34 mph at 1300 ft (typical Nebraska)
16.076 @ 90.26 mph at 0 ft
Some things to keep in mind on the G-Tech - It will probably ALWAYS read more mph. Track figures mph on an average from the last 66 ft (The lines on each side of the actual finish line) and the G-Tech calcs at the exact "finish line". If you have the orginal G-Tech, it has to be dead level to get an accurate reading. The new one ($249 one) has a setup that does away with having to level it, unless you are reading G's, then it has to be pointed straight ahead. Always want to make sure the weather conditions are the same also if you compare to track times. On the above example, a 10 deg temp raise along with a .5 drop on the barameter slowed the car almost .2
I'm gonna see how accurate it is this spring by taking it to the track with me, so I'll get both results on a single run.
Sorry that got kinda long - sounded almost like a poster boy for G-Tech, which I'm not, just saying there are alot of variables to take into account.

off topic, i;ve wondering abouut a time for a stock 3800 F-body, iv'e be told anywhere form 15.5 to 16.0 with a good driver, but time here seem to indicate a stock car would be slightly higher99 Firebird
purchased 12/28/02
w/ 13,0000 miles

You just have to make sure the GTECH is ABSOLUTELY level or you won't get good results.

if you do a search here might come up with some numbers...
in my dad's 2000 Camaro 5-speed, I ran 15.875, might have been able to squeeze a little more maybe a 15.6, I had alot of trouble launching it.

stock times for the v6 fbody are about 15.8 for 3.08 gears, a maual should be able to see 15.6 and 3.42's a 15.4
those should be near correct

Thanks for the replies. So I'm assuming thats almost what I should be running? maybe a little slow. When I leveled the G-tech I think I was facing a touch uphill so who knows how that effected it. I'll get to the track some time this summer for a real time1998 Red RS 3.8l A4
Whisper - K&N - N20 - 1LE Panhard - Ghetto STB - 255/50ZR16 Ecsta
Removed grille - Limo tint - blackouts - A-pillar cf a/f ratio
Panasonic DF88 - 1 12\" Eclipse 88120.4 - Eclipse 3322 amp
http://members.cardomain.com/raven_rs
