  • Finally in the 14's... about time

So Evan (Only4U), Adam (K*nightRider) and myself went to RCR tonight. Got there at 6pm. 1/4 tank of gas... First run right off the bat was 15.02X... I knew it was 14's time...Next run got it: 14.9875s. Third run, down to 14.9215s... Now when we came in we were behind two girls in a NEw Beetle cabriolet. They both had motorcycle helmets. So I just got back from the third run, popped the hood, turned of the ignition. I get out and the girls are coming by. I say "I want to run the." Evan says something like "Go for it then." I slammed the hood and jumped in. Ran em down. They were talkin to some guys around a Civic that ran high 15's on juice. I pulled up right behind the Beetle. Teh driver then looks out the window back at me and asks "Want to race?" I nod. We line up. I clean off hte tires. Stage. Stall to 1600rpm. 3rd yellow i hit it...

    60': 2.1850s
I look over, the girls are pulling a 2.9989s

    1/8mi: 9.5173s
    1/8mph: 73.52mph
By this time I have to look well behind me to see them with their 12.5943 @ 57.69mph

    1/4mi: 14.9204s
    1/4mph: 90.56mph
    They only saw tailights...
    19.4182s @ 70.19mph
    Win Margin: 4.4820s

Get an easy kill, and my best time of the night.

    Best mph was 90.56mph.
Adam still owns me in mph... 3rd gear in the auto is no match for 3rd in the manual. It's his badarsed intake too ;)

Evan got new times, he will post them at some point I'm sure...

"Nino" showed up eventually, he may post...

    That is all

Raised airbox, !airbox lid fins, !silencer, FRA, K&N, 3inch crush (crappy) bent pipe after S to Flowmaster 80 series, HPP3 87 octane tuning, fan temp adjustment, and 255mph speed limiter. TIres are factory equpment Eagle GA's w/ 18100 miles on them. 180* thermostat goes in whenever I get to an Autozone that actually has the gasket in stock, then it will be time to reprogram the fan temps, and eventually I would like to adjust the shift points (see thread in drivetrain ;) )

        w00t...

15.19@91.61 is my new best time...but still not my best MPH (92.8).

Best 60 also: 2.3996:\ still sucks

I did some more weight reduction this time...spare/jack, back seat buckets (not the backrest, it wouldnt come out), and all of the crap out of my glove box.

I smell 14s once I get an LSD and some LCAs.

I figure I obviously have the horsepower i need...i just need to work on getting the car moving:\

ya, adam and matt did damn well. matt's hpp3 did quite a bit for him in my opinion, i was proud of the results. adam also has that strong 3rd gear that pulled him into some good #'s; 14s are/were right around the corner. all in all, it was a fun outing; and that's what it's all about :D

nope; as i recall, the last time i posted my times, not only were both myself and my car insulted by various board members, but more importantly, andre (my friend at edge) also got disrespect directed towards him and his products from these same board members. for that reason alone, and the other accompanying reason as well, i refuse to post any more times from my "slow *** car" on this board again.

i will say one thing though, and this comment is directed for others out there running with high stall converters: unless you have skinnies, don't bother taking of your front sway bar, my 60 ft's did not improve any. that's my advice, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and/or choices however. as far as the 9 lbs of weight reduction go, the removal effort of the sway bar is not worth it IMO. not a bad removal as far as time and physical labor goes, but there are no rewarding results (in the 60ft, which is all the removal of the sway bar really helps, despite the 9lb weight reduction), so i would say it is not worth it.

diclaimer: don't flame me on this, i don't feel like getting flamed. i just post this for your knowledge and to save you a little worthless effort if you had made plans to be involved in such.

First of all there were two (cute) chicks in that Beetle. Second of all, you are just sad cause they didn't honk at you every time they drove by ;)
