so i go to the track today to get some runs and try different settings with the maft+. this is all 1/8 mile. i'm trying to make this technical so people can see what the maft+ is all about. i didn't have my autotap so i ws baseing the adjustments on my times.

1st run...maft+ settings are zero(nothing)

60ft.....2.0
1/8......9.6@70.38

2nd run..maft+ settings 4degrees advance 2%lean
60ft......2.1
1/8.......9.7@69.95..(slower)

3rd run.. maft+ disconnected
60ft..2.0
1/8....9.7@69.89

4th run.. maft+6degrees advance 8% rich
60ft..2.0
1/8....9.7@69.15

i wanted to do a run with the timing being retarded, but i had to go.
also with the mods i have why is my trap speed so low. i should be trapping 3 mph higher. maybe my converter is too lose. i'm getting really pissed at this car. a guy in a 99 ls1 said i have a strong running RS. i wanted to smack him and he was being serious.. i'm not impressed with this car.

thats no good. some people have had some serius problems with the MAFT. slacker69 and nino for sure. but a 9.7 1/8 time is like a 15.0 or so

gotta do better. with the mods you have you should be in the low 9's

i know something is not right. i have no clue why my car is slow ****ing slow. i don't know what to do anymore. maybe this stall conveter is causing all the problems, i did buy it used off someone from the board..

my buddy shane (he's nachius on the board here) had problems with his converter too...he'd leave the hole *decent* but not anything for what it should be because of his converter.

what kind did you get

It worked great for me, man all this sh** talk is messed up mike, when you first got the yank you constantly imed me saying how much you like it, now your *****ing about it, maybe you dont know this but the more mods you add the more the pcm needs programmed, well with that same converter with 3.73 gears i ran 9.3 1/8 mile and 14.4 i think my mph was 92.?? 1/8 mph was 72.?? i believe

I remember you made a comment regarding your verter involving me at the brat stop when we met up.. Shoot me an e-mail reagarding that and any more info you can provide.

Your method is a little flawed with the MAF T+.. You need to make small changes.. 2% or 2 degrees.. and keep making passes until you loose MPH.. it takes time but after 6 or so passes you'll find something ideal for your car on that day. On a different day you may need to mix it up again.

once again i'm not dogging you. i want more topend. check this i went to the track about 5 months ago and cut a 1.960ft., but yet my 1/4 mile time was a 15.3@88 mph. see what i';m saying. who know maybe my motor sucks. but i'm looking into eveything and my converter is next on this list ;) . relax i do like it, but once my car hit's 60mph, my car falls on it's face.

i'll be autotapping today to see if maybe my problem is hella KR or something like that.

THIS IS IN FOR SLOWBRAEATER

Yeah something is definatly wrong. I was runnin 9.4/9.5 in the 1/8 w/ just an exhaust, intake, and 1LE DS. no tuning or converter. Could it have been the weather or traction or something? I cant think of what would be wrong

It's when you make statements like that where you get yourself booted. And FYI I'm not trying to get you booted I was just trying to help Mike out. YOU need to calm down.

Damn, I think I remember myself saying that also to him
Well, enough on that, back to track talk

Well, there are soooo many other factors that you may not have considered
Track temp, humid and barom pressure in between all of your passes.
Did you check your tire psi just before making a pass?
Was the engine temp exactly the same before each pass?
Launch rpm exactly the same each round?

It is very hard to try something like what you did.
I do agree with Keith where he mentions that you might want to adjust in small increments.

See if your local track has a night where it is not that busy and try and make many back to back passes
and then get back to us

i totally understand what you are saying. the thing is i have run at 3 different 1/8mile track over he past yr and i still have not seen better than a 9.6 and i've only been using the maft+ for a couple of months.

i'm mad at myself cause i have no solid times with my stock converter and things of that nature. my new one should be here monday and friday i'm going to the track and i'll post more time and try to do this more accurately..i'll let everyone know.

by the way this is malloynx#2
