stupid question but what will a higher stall torque converter do to improve runs- im really just startin to get into that area of cars...

The higher stall helps you launch at an rpm that is closer to your torque peak. Just using numbers, say you have 150 TQ at 1700 rpm and 240 at 3000 rpm. If you had a 3000 stall converter you would leave the line harder because your motor is up to it's torque peak. If you want to see really good examples of this, check out any Super Stock racers with automatics. They also use something called a transbrake that puts your trans in reverse and first at the same time, effectively keeping your car from moving at all. So they get staged, push the transbrake button, mat the gas and let off the button - BAM! 4 foot wheelie. Pretty much like dumping the clutch in a stick car.
