say i buy me some LCAs, a torque arm bushing, some subframe connectors, some BFG drag radials, and a clutch...then i leave the line at about 4000-4500, you think i could pull a 1.8x 60'?? my best 60' so far is a 2.10 but that was on street tires, stock suspension, and at Temple academy, some of yall know how Temple hooks...

What RPM do you leave at now? Stock rear gear? Torque is what will get you moving. Maybe trying leaving about 500 rpm above the torque peak of your motor. Play around with launch rpm - the highest rpm isn't always the quickest. If you start dumping the clutch at 4500 with some sticky tires it may be time for a rear end upgrade... which would be a good time to throw in some lower gears.
Good Luck -

i had 3.73/LSD already, i leave at 3k on stock suspension and street tires right now...peak torque is around 4000 so i would leave about 4000-4500 just depending on how much the RPM's drop when i dump the clutch...
Guess if I would have known the peak torque of that motor I could have said "Yea, 4500 sounds about right" With a good clutch and alot of stick, you very well may see a fair rpm drop on launch (and hopefully not a bog on the motor).
1.8 would look pretty good on the time slip...

some say its rough on the drivetrain but hey I mean I am only on my second rear end, second driveshaft, second tranny, second trannymount, cracked my torque arm, and 4th clutch.
i think the rear end will be aight..the tranny? not sure and im sure the two piece DS will definately bust...it would still be a blast to leave the line like that though!! :D :D
