  • Weighed the car yesterday

    In street trim, with a half tank of gas the car was at 3100. Thats all speakers, passenger seat, stock rims.

    When i was at the track i had the skinnies on and the car was cleaned out, meaning books for class, hypertech, you know, the usual loose ends in the car. So im sure it was at 3050 or so.

    This summers weight should be right at 3000 if not a pinch under, prostars are next and i have the lightweight battery in the mail.

    Where did you have it weighed? Would a truck stop weigh it?

      Man, your car is light! My car weighed 3520 lbs. with me in it. How is your car so much lighter than mine?

        He took off the bumper supports and AC (I think) as well as some other miscellaneous stuff. I'm also sure he wasn't in the car when he weighed it. That and Zach's the man! :D

          hahah yes yes i am the man.

          actually there is a list of weight reductions on my site (in my sig) and the ac is out, which was only like 35-40 lbs, which is the weight of the passenger seat which was in when i raced.

          dominic, it was at this place that does shipping, they use it to weigh the trucks but not the entire truck, just the back half i guess cause my car BARELY FIT, i had to have my buddy stand outside while i got aligned on the scale.

          and the 3100 is w\o driver.

            How the hell is it soooo light???
            You and keith have some seriously light cars!!!
            Best I saw was 3080
            Since then I have ditched:
            A/C for 30.5 pounds
            Stereo for 14.5 pounds
            Total of 45 pounds
            Guesstimate new best weight is 3035
            I still have several other things to do though
            Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
            nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
            2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
            2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet

              the manual trans itself is lighter than an auto, so account for that. also it takes a lot less fluid in addition to being lighter.

                it's depressing how heavy our cars are.

                hey, take out the sun visors...maybe another ~5 lbs. don't give me none of this "but i need my sun visor" cause you already ripped out your freakin bumper supports!!! lol, so that excuse no worky. ;)

                      damn light *** cars. i remember going to HRP and running some crappy times and then i weighted the car. it was right at 3600 pds. this was with no weight reduction other than removing all the misc crap from the car. lucky bastard ;)

                        Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

                            Zach- what kind of options from the factory do you have?

                            I have NOTHING but the 16x8s, rear defog, and monsoon CD sysem. Im sure power options add weight.
                            what all have you ditched besides bumper suports?
