• Times? im intrigued?

Forgive my lack of experience... but i know my car bone stock had 200 hp. thats all i knew. now with some flows and tips and an intake, about how high would my horsepower be? 230-240? Also, id like to make a pass on my car but before i do id like to know (with my few mods) a time that i should be hitting so that i kinda have a feel for whats gonna happen before it does
Thanks a lot <3

Probably 210 hp?
You are just talking about adding a cat back and a cold air intake correct?
What year is it?
Ok, it's a 97 right? All the 97's are the fastest here
Typically mid 16's to mid 15's can be achieved.
Good drivers or newer 02 models can hit low 15's

Practice is the key honestly, you can knock off a good amount of time or et with practice.
Best of luck

BTW, nice web page ;)

Don't expect too much from intake and exhaust work. Take what the manufacturer says and then take half off... then you might have about the max hp added... I'd say with a flowmaster and an intake, call it 210.. 215 at the most?? With just an intake and exhaust on mine, I pulled 177 hp at the wheels on a dyno. Assuming ~15% drivetrain loss thru the manual transmission, that makes ~209 hp at the flywheel. Not too impressive there...

As for what you'd run.. we need some more info.. What year is the car? Auto or manual? Do you happen to know what rear end gears are in it if it's an auto? (3.08 or 3.42 if its an auto.. if a manual it'll be 3.23)

Edit: Well lots of action here since I STARTED to reply... James, you post too fast!! How much you sprayin on that keyboard?!?!

If thats the case then it's all in the launch. With a good launch and no problems, you could see mid 15s fairly easily. However if this is your first time at the track... don't expect great launches or great times.. anything in the 15s would be great for a first timer. The best I ran with an SLP cai, crummy exhaust, and a Pro 5.0 shifter was 15.3 I believe. That was with a 2.0 60' on street tires. After a few other mods (including a limitted slip rear) and drag radials, I saw 2.2 60s at best and never any better than 15.3... I guess I just suck...

My first time with no exhaust mods I ran a 15.6 on a terrible launch... took a few times to get horrendous to terrible - (horrendous launching led to a consistant 16.2).

Im going back this weekend to improve on my launching... 15.1s are expected :D (regardless of Skinny's l33t Skillz)

My first times out were mid 16's
It is true, it is all in the launch with manual.
SLP cold air kit seems to be one of the best out there

I pulled a 15.875, in my dad 2000 5-speed dead stock.. with a pretty crappy launch.

SJtu get the launch, and shift at the right times and I see 15s being bery possible, don't expect great times.

Also to get better don't worry about the 1.4mile time as much, sometimes look at other things in your timeslip, that need imporvement like the launch
quote:
