• WTF A FACTORY MONSTER GRAND AM?

Ok to add to my depessing day yesteday this kid comes along with a white 2000 grand am. Hes saying how he wants to run 15.8 and such. I told him go for it but that he shouldnt expevt anything more than a 16 flat. Well first run is a 15.885 he comes back all juiced up, well he goes for his second run and pulls... you ready for this.. 15.612 WHAT IN THE HELL. All I could think of was that it had to be not stock or something. Very odd it just rubbed salt in my wound last night.

I saw a good driver pull a 15.8, in a rent a car Grand Am, his f-body was at the shop.

My old neighbor hit consistent mid 16s with a slightly modded grand Am GT with 34000, but he was a bit of an idiot.

I've been known to dial in n/a to a 14.5 and then if the guy is a prick in the lanes (v6 bashing etc) then I'll spray him and destroy him into the 12's

                    SSEi is a Bonneville package.

EDIT: I noticed you're other thread about going to the track with the 3.42's. Basically if you get your 60' down, I don't think that Grand Am will be a problem. But they are kind of quick now, cause they are light.

i prolly need some new tires and suspension mods to really slice those 60's down to size. Bf Goodrich 245/50/17 dont seem to be cutting it. Ill be going withsome Nitto street et's If I can find some for not to bad of a price.

I assume you mean 16 inch... but anyway I think Nittos are overkill for your car. How many miles on teh BF Goodrich's?

Yah, actually the profile should be lower than 55 for a 17 inch wheel I think...

The 17's are hurting you. Besides the fact that each wheel weighs more, and the mass is a little farther from the axle, it is harder to hook a lower profile tire.

Yes that is normal. I took my friend's 99 Grand Am GT to the track and ran a 15.5 in it.
