140-145 on my way back from Memphis. That was in fifth gear at 5000 rpms with Nitto 555R's. For any of you non believers. DO THE MATH. :D

Maybe after you call a few times I will tell you the secret to top speed runs. ;)

you unplugged your vss sensor on your tranny. then by calculating rpm's and tire height you came up with your speed. am i right.

115....was driving on an old Air Force bomber runway (2 mile long, Reese AFB, Lubbock, TX)

It was really windy (yes, windy in lubbock, hard to believe, huh?) and when i hit 115, my car was swaying back and forth, so i slowed down.

Been about 120 or so in an LS1....125 in an 89 Caddy SeVille (my friends, same runway, i was driving on a less windy day)

rob231. You are teh winnar. You do have to drive for awhile so that the computer will kick a fault code and remove the 4500 rpm rev limiter.

Edit: Also had the help of a GPS receiver.

Has anyone else reprogrammed their car to remove the 118 governor? I'd really like to hear some more top speeds. I assume mine is 118 btw, although its never gone that fast.

I shifted out of 4th @ redline (145mph) and into 5th... needle was buried into the voltage gauge - still had some left too and was happliy cruising at 145mph (approx).

                          Thank you hpp3.

85...I'm afraid of getting a ticket, or worse....cops everywhere around here. A few days ago I was thinking about about just flooring it and drive it past god knows where...then a car comes...a police car right behind him. So, nevermind, maybe another day.

What would happen if you did get pulled over doing 100+ in a 55mph zone?
