Depends on the cop. I've gotten a ticket for 110 in a 55 when I lived in AZ. The cop said that she would have impounded my car and taken my brother and I to juvenile detention if they hadn't gotten in touch with my parents. I went to court 2 months later and paid $65 and went to traffic school. Was also caught here in AR doing 98 in a 70. Called the court and sent them a copy of my driving record and $140 and I was cleared.

In Florida you get,
A)wreckless driving
B)Wreckless endangerment
C)Exhibition of speed or something like that
All three are jailable offenses :eek:

If I got caught doing over 100 I would be screwed either way: they would arrest me or get ahold of my parents, and they would take my car away, :(

Anyway, the fastest I've gone is like 90-95.

shiiit, I was doing ~100mph average driving to Miami. Then again pretty much everyone was hauling too...

The highest Ive gone is 118 (just for curiosity)

I don't know when this happened, but a co-worker was caught doing 120 on the interstate (might've been two lane highway) while racing and said he was taken straight to jail.

I think it depends though:

If you're doing 120 or more in an Fbody, the cop thinks, This kid was going way to fast-I'm throwing the book at him.

If you're doing 120 or over in a toyota or Saturn, the cop thinks HOW in the hell did he get it going that fast...I'm calling the National Enquier, Good Lord!

I had my V6 runnin at 118mph, damn speed limiter. I had my x-girlfriends dad's 2k2 Vette going about 160. I think thats the fastest ive ever been driving a car.

I keep seeing people talk about speed limiter set at 118. I just had my car up too 125 and slowed down because I didnt want to twist any needles or anything

I've been the only owner and never messed with the speed limiter. I dont mind though

dont know if this should be included, but Ive driven around 150mph in my fathers 76 Trans Am 455 4speed. I say around because the speedo stops at 100 and I had it pegged back around at 0.

In my fiance's 99 V6 Mustang....damn thing cuts off at 115 MPH...errr...so now you know the V6 Mustang top out at stock..

In my Z28...I normally get out of it around 155, but it is now where near out of power...maybe 170-175 if I stayed into it long enough....maybe faster...but I don't have the ballz to go there...

One thing to remember is that GM normally cuts your speed off around the tire speed rating...guess if I was going 160 mph with a tire rated for 95 mph(which my S-10 topped out) and a tire popped, guess I woudl be dumb**** for putting myself in that spot.

I was doing some highway runs one time(out of 100's) and I got busted. I told the cop I have been working on my car for 4 months straight and I was tuning it up using my laptop(which was in the passengers seat) and he let me go, told me to be careful...course there was no traffice at 1:00 in the morning...I must have been around 110 mph when he flashed his lights ahead of me...
