You bet it does...
Take an NHRA race at Colorado - they even have index adjustments on all the classes (Except Pros - they just run slower). Weather has a big effect on times as well. Say you run at 50 degrees, 50% humidity, and a nice fat barameter of 31. If you made the identical run at 95 degrees, 80% humidity and low barameter 28.9, you would see a drastic gain in ET. If anybody cares, I'll run those numbers through my ET predictor tonight to get an idea of how much it could gain on a typical 15.5 car.

I got these off someones site from this board. I wont put him on the spot though
15.2 N2O - (14.5 altitude corrected)
16.2 NA - (15.5 altitude corrected)
16.4 NA (15.7 corrected)
Does altitude make that much of a diffence?

Glad to see you went to my site.. :D
Acutally someone gave me a link to some formula on how to correct the times. I put those on my website so people won't email and talk $hit about my car being super slow. But on the board here, i wouldn't dare give a corrected time, it has been explained how it could be fudged etc.
I forget the link, but I didn't just pull the numbers out of my *** . Actually I took a couple hundred feet off my elevation when I did it too.
I am not bragging or anything, its just for comparison.
But altitude does affect times alot.

That's why you can't always judge by 1/4 times. A guy in TX can run a 14.6 and I run a 14.9 (St.Louis), doesn't mean he will run the same where I'm at. Weather, sea level-altitude is a HUGE factor.
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
