• More weight reduction

Edlebrock cat back, flowtech 3 inch cut oout, bazooka monza 2.5 to 3.5 tips, catco 2.5 in and out cat (basically y pipe back) 48 pounds

SLP loudmouth with the single tips on either side, catco 3 inch in and ou cat 26 pounds

22 more pounds off

Stock shocks 6 pounds each
Hal shocks 4.5 pounds each

3 more pounds off

These mods alone have put me just under 3000 curb weight n/a if I am correct. I am guessing that I am at 2995 lbs

I have also ditched my stock non power cloth seat in favor of a sparco evo seat. I have not weighed these to see the difference yet but I'd guess at 20 pounds which could be 2975 pounds??

I was at an f body shop in CT today and they showed me how to remove another 30+ pounds.
Maybe I would be under the 2950 mark???

Updates will come shortly of REAL weight.

If you lighten up that car anymore you'll be able to have the first Firebird that can really fly. I'm talking airborne. lol :D

Hmmmmmm, well this is what I saw
They have a 9 second NOSzle powered maro.
It had:
Manual brakes
No heater core
Quick release steering wheel
No air bags
Mini fuel cell
And so on......
I'll post what the weight reduction item is when it is removed

At a local AutoX, there was a one-armed driver (talk about weight reduction!). Trouble is, he drove a carbon fiber lotus (no friggin' joke, the thing was as high as my knee and all CF) that was a stick shift. Needless to say, arm, lotus, and all, he stole FTD. 30 lbs? Not sure.

James,

I met you about a year ago at Cecil and not sure if you remember me or not. I think you were having some problems with your car. I have to admit, your car is very impressive. I'll see you up at Cecil sometime this spring/summer perhaps and I'm still working out too many bugs with my new combination (hoping for well over 400 to the wheels) but I've changed everything around (suspension, tires/rims, intake, swapped to automatic, bla bla bla and yada yada yada).

Have you already gone to tubular K member / A arm setup? That is a good way to lose some weight up front as well. If you have, disregard... hehe.

Take care and say hi if you see me there! I'll be driving that turd green machine s/c mustang with skinnies/fats.

-Tim

James,
I might have to stop by that day. In all honesty man, I'm tired of spending $$ on this car and ready to move on to another project. I'm seriously considering something older like a 68/69 SS or perhaps a newer Vette/SS? I dunno. I've had this car for over 5 years and it's about mod'd out and I've gone further then I intended. Hope to hit the dyno soon and hoping for mid-upper 400rwhp #'s but who knows. You know how all that goes.

Anyway, yea we met briefly and I think there was a V-6 Stang vs V-6 Camaro day @ Cecil or something going on --- I'm getting old and can't remember.

Here is a picture of my car if you see me, say hi.
