  • dynoed my car

well I just took my car to get it dynoed. I did 2 runs and it was not at all what I was hoping for. first run dynoed at 152.4 max hp and 190 torque, second run ten mins. later was 156.1 max hp and 193.3 torque. Now I know my car is ****ed up. stock is like 165-175 ? why the hell is my car below stock when I have some mods done to it. My ses light was on when I did this, its the P420 code I put a new O2 censor on and it still comes back. looks like I need an O2 sim. I have new plugs and wires new fuel filter and my oil was just changed. is there anything else I should look at to see what the problem? this sucks I was hoping to see 180-190hp.

Weather.................? That kinda sux man. Your exhaust can be robbing some power though. You may not need the 3 inch, but I really don't have any experience with that and our cars.

3 inch isn't overkill. if you're getting a code then that's why. if it's having a problem with your cat it's probably running in limp home mode which is significantly down in power. get that fixed and i'm sure you'll see more power.
i was swimming in the carribean. animals were hiding behind the rocks except for the little fish, but they told me the squid\'s trying to talk to me. oink, oink. where is my mind?

the code is from bank one which is the driver side o2 censor not the 02 censor at the cat which should be 3 if I am right. the code comes up 2 times when I pull the codes. I hope your about get ride of the code.

weak numbers.. i dynoed 178 and 214 with only a lid and SS muffler. might need to try a new dyno place or get a new motor.

Wait, so let me get this right. And SES light will lower your power because it thinks something is wrong? I never knew that....so, persay, the SES light that I got once I got my exhaust put on could be causing problems?

ive had ses light for a long *** time look at my times

the p420 code does not effect hp on our cars it does not make it go into limp home mode which is the only way your car would lose power

I think there was a post about a 20% loss to the drive train, if that is true then your #'s are right on.

Also not all dynos are the same, most rely on operator input for some factors, that honestly I am not sure about. I think weather simulation or something like that.

I only put down 170 rwhp and 200 rwtq and I have sooooo many mods.
Did you have a wideband done?
                      Did they check tire psi?
                      What was the engine temp?
Was there a fan pushing air in?
What gear was it done in?

I just did 2 base runs
                          tires were 32psi all 4
                          engine temp was 180
                          fan was on
I don't know what gear it was in

I can always go back its $55 for 2 base runs $30hr. wideband air/fuel, 1/2 hour dyno time $75
$115 1hr dyno time which I think seems fair. I just thought this #s are lower then stock.

What type of Dyno? Mustang? Dynojet? There is a difference between the two.

hes 100% right. it doesnt effect engine performance at all. i have had that light on since i got my headers and cat back. That light is more a part of me than my own arm. its been my best friend for the past few years. Its always there for me. hahaha.
