• is it possible for a v6 to beat an 03 cobra.

is this practical...was the cobra a bad driver? Everything doesnt seem to line up. but i know of this car and the driver the car has a crappy flow setup and a k&n. also no offense to anyone but the driver weighs like close to 300. unless im wrong more weight = slower car. seems like the cobra should have been hitting alot lower cause a stock 5.0 i heard of hit low 9's. i street raced that car and had him until we hit about 118 (damn limiter). seems a bit embarassing that a lincoln family car would beat you.

Posted: Fri Mar 07, 2003 11:40 pm Post subject: Need your advice about racing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just went to the raceway in Sealy and raced. Here are my time trials:
Reaction Time, MPH, ET
1.????, 69.65, 10.3154
2. 1.1121, 69.19, 10.1340
3. .9451, 69.64, 10.0907
4. 1.6218, 68.58, 10.4160
5. 1.0453, 69.78, 10.0635
6. 1.1049, 69.90, 10.0260

My race times:
Opponent, RT, MPH, ET,
1. '03 SVT Cobra, .8321, 69.51, 10.1171, WON!!!
2. '95 Lincoln Mark8, .6244, 69.28, 10.0920, Lost

This was the first time I ever raced my car and wanted to know if you think I did pretty good. I have a 2000 V6 Camaro with a Flowmaster muffler and a K&N air filter. Also, do the 160 degree thermostats work good in a 2000 V6 Camaro?

Seems like you did pretty good to me, unless you have the 3.42's in which case i would think you have some room for improvement.

If you go on the last yellow you should have better reaction times.

depends on the driver...

I ran a 02 Saleen that ran a 15.4, guy coudl nto drive...

03 Cobra, you are looking at low 13s, possible high 8s, low 9s in the 1/8th.

In mm&ff The 03 cobra went 13.2 with a okay driver and a 12.8 with a good driver.. Those cars kick *** .. I think that if you have 12secondv6 or Magnus against a stock 03 Cobra then yeah My money is definatly on James or Magnus but once the Cobra puts a H-pipe Cat back and Intake it is a 11 second car.. The one guy at the shop were I take my car to get worked on has a 03 cobra.. He dynoed 372hp and 377ftlbs of tourque stock!! Then he got a cat back, off road h-pipe and cold air intake and now dynoes in at 422hp and 417ftlbs.. Very impressive.. Oh yeah he runs 11.9's too

I witnessed an editor testing an 03 cobra at a closed track session
Bone stock he went 12.41 at 115.XX mph
Then with a pulley change, ditching the spare and jack and the air filter this car went 12.00 at 117.XX and I am told later on that night the car went 11.8.

This was with an incredible driver on street tires.

Can one of our v6's beat one?
Of course

But, he would have to catch up first!
Average driver at my local track gets low 13's to high 12's bone stock
But then we are just guessing.
I haven't run my new set up

He smokes me fairly decently. the drive u raced must suck =) I can launch my car now at about 2500RPM - A4 with no spin, I can hop him outta the hole by about .2 now hes in control of it and is even with me to 60 foot.

You could definitely improve on your reaction times. If you would have gotta a good jump of the line then you would have owned them both.

I would hope they are beasts, they are supercharged, if they werent running those times with 8 cylinders and a charger than ford would suck more than i think they do. I witnessed a 00 cobra with a supercharger run 13.2 very sad, and no he didnt spin
