I have kuhmo tires, no spare tire or jack, my full exhaust, and my shaved air box with k&n filter and I am very good at off the line. what do you think i will run? i am going sunday to bud's creek if it doesn't rain.thanks guys.

I have the same tires as you, dynomax muffler, and slp cai and I ran a 16.2 my first time. I think with your mods you should be in the low 16's/high 15's. also depends on temp, humidity, altitude, blah blah blah.

I think this should be faster because a guy with a 3.4 m5 made a 16.8 with no mods and the track conditions should be about the same, plus on the g tech i ran a 0-60 of 7.5 ( 7.7 according to gm) so close there and a 15.2 in the 1/4 at like 86 or 87 mph, so i was thinking low 15's.

i think brian's car has a high 15 in it under the right conditions. With a 3.08's its going to be hard to see low 15. not impossible, but also not likely. I'm sure you know that the gtech isnot the most reliable way to judge your times. anyway, the only advantage you really have over his car is is the full exhaust. other than that, theyre almost identical. Im also not sure but i believe lowering your car will have an adverse effect on your 1/4th times. There have been a few factory freaks that have run low 15's and even better in extremely rare cases with light mods... but i wouldnt put too much faith in the gtech. Good luck, and do what i do... expect the worst and you wont be disappointed ;)

i doubt you will get low 15's, maybe mid if you have some good conditions. Are you going to be using your 18's to race?

yes my 18's will be on because my stock tires suck and does lowering help or hurt the time?

lowering will not help, if anything it will hurt. same with the wheels. both those things will help your handling

and looks but they way i see it is why remove the wheels to run a faster time when they will be on, on the street so then my time will be slower. And i really am not to worried about my times because i will be getting a s/c soon or the new car i want.

You should use your stock tires even if they suck because most likely they are worn out. If they are all worn out then you get better traction.

                    I have a 96 Fbird with a 3.08 open rear.
My best time stock(only a k&n conical to exsisting airbox) was 15.9. The majority of my times have ranged from 16.6-16 flat. The average is about 16.2. I haven't started spraying or adding a super yet, but one or the other is coming...

Stock form for most autos with 3.08s IO ahve seen is the 16 flat range, I have onlye seen maybe 3-4 of them and the guy above this post was one of them.

teh rims will slow you down, with bigger rims and tires it is like having stock size wheels with a 2.73 rear end, unless your tires are super low profile and have the same size diameter of your stock tires. Then the next problem with the 18s is the fact that they are bigger and weigh more, more mass to spin.

As for lowereing it usually makes it harder to launch but that will not be too big of a problem for your car at the moment.
