not necesarily.. what do you run... mods??? all they are is just a different body style... same engine and all so you make no sense at all... the thing that determines how fast you run is how much $$$$$ you have to spend.. as matt would say speed costs money

Then why do I run better times then guys with ported heads, cams, chips and headers? I have none of that on my car but I am .2 faster then then next guy on the N/A list for 3.4Ls.
What options does he have, maybe there is a weight difference? Maybe he can jsut reap a beter launch then you?
There is more involved then money in racing.
Maybe the guy that bult his engine, looked a way for a second and the ehads got grinded down just a little bit more(milled for better compression) and the guy that was polishin up his intake found out his wife is leaving him for a circus midget got pissed, and started grinding the hell out of the upper intake porting it out.
then the guy tha built the slower's car mtor, was working on his day off on a friday which was christmas eve adn cut every corner he could to get the work done?
To make to cars 100% exactly alike would cost a fortune. They allow a certain amount of variances in engien specs and the 200hp is the average rated hp, some make 205, some make 195.

its common sense why the y87 can stall higher, no its not that they have a bigger verter its because they have posi so it takes more to turn both tires than it does on an open diffy with just turning one tire. with posi you have to give it more gas to spin them thus resulting in the rpm going up higher.Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

well like matt said ever since he got the car day 1. i was there and its always been fast. I will give yall the same example i did him his motor was obviously better built than mine. the sad thing is i have to spend money to catch him but there will always be someone faster so i learn to live with it. im just out to have some fun. after the converter im putting a 75 wet shot on. hopefully by then i will run some low 15's

We're talking about stalling, not powerbraking the car and the tires spinning. Stalling the car is stalling the motor up WITHOUT the tires spinning.....come on man.\'99 SDime reg. cab stepside
4.3/auto/3.42 open
Performance: 2.5\" from the y into a Magnaflow, modded stock airbox, MAF mod
Exterior: dropped 2/1, Gen 2 hood, clear corners, euro tails, billet bowtie, Xtreme wheels, shaved emblems

thats what he is talking about...
auto with open diffy, you have foot on brake, and put foot on gas, slowly riding into it the one wheel starts to spins at say 2100. So this means you can stall the car up to 2000 without the wheel spinning and launch.
With an auto and lsd, you have a foot on the brake and put foot on gas slowly riding into and since there is twice the rubber to spin bot wheels start spinning at 2600 rpms. So this meaning you can stall the car up to 2500 rpms without the wheels spinning and launch.
Launching at a higher rpm obviously is better as long as you have traction.

Jeez this thread started to suck. Have none of you ever seen a car that just plain ole' pulls harder than the rest of the cars that are stock like that one is? It happenes all the time! My car stock ran almost half a second faster than the nearest stock V6 f-body in town did at the time. WHy you ask? Who knows, but it did all the time. This guy's car is comparable to the way mine was stock, it just pulls. We saw it when he got it, and have seen him every other days eince, he doesn't have any mods that we didn't mention. That's the nice thing about the smaller racing scene we have here. Someone please just kill this thread, lock it, delete it, something.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!
