went to US 41 dragway today. First ever run was a 15.874@85.38 This was with a 2.255 60 foot time. It was pretty amazing, I would spin completely thru first, thru second (partially hooking at the end of 2nd) then throw it into third, which would kick the car kinda sideways.

Best MPH run was a 15.905@86.90.

All in all wayyyy satisfied, and as soon as i get the timeslpi scanned, ill be number 7 (?) on the NA 3.4L slip page!!!! :D

So now, i need to figure this traction issue out. Car is pulling very hard, i couldnt heat the tires enough (street tires), and even if i babied it off the line, one touch of pedal and the tires are gone.

Oh, and another thing, i was beating several TPI 350 cu. in. third gen cars well past the 60 fgoot, even with my tire spinning.

Are you saying you ran a 15.8 with just appearance mods? What's done to your 3.4 cause that doesn't sound very realistic.

yes, i did run a 15.8

and i have not updated my mods signiture.

Mods on the car as of now:

3.73 gears/LSD?rear disc brake conversion
1 piece STEEL driveshaft.
underdrive pullies.
BMR LCA's/panhard rod
KN cold air intake

that, and i pulled my rear seats out today, still had everything else interior wise in the car.

got the time slip right in front of me, along with about 20 members of the Purdue University car club to back up my claim. Believe it or dont. Just wait till i get a tire that hooks...

Well in that case maybe. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Did you pull out the spare tire/jack? How much gas did you run with? What were the weather conditions? What RPM did you shift at? Give us some details. Also next time I hit up the track I'll let you know and we can have a race of the 3.4's.

Stock I-pipe? Sure you ran a fully functional exhaust, no cutout, or dump somewhere?

Can you do me a favor and go out sometime and measure the I-pipe behind the catback? Could be possible, I did hit a 15.9 with less gear, but LSD, with crappier muffler but biggr I-pipe. Just not sure if its possible on a stock 2.25 in. I-pipe, though apparently some peopel are finding 2.5in. I-pipes on there 3.4Ls which may be believable.

either way nice runs

btw heat those tires up...

don't to an insane smokey but they will like a little heat in them or at least clean the crap of them you got on the return run.
