• Racing a 91 Formula Firebird on the 11th.

Ok, I have a bunch of my co-workers going with me to opening Friday Night Test/Tune @ Milan Dragway on April 11th.
I have been waiting to race this this kid w/ his 91 Formula Firebird. 305 TPI Automatic w/ flowmaster and CAI. Pretty much stock. Anyone have a clue what the Formula would run in a 1/4?

My car isn't too far from stock myself. I am thinking I am mid 15's without a problem.

I think I have a race.

I raced a 305 TPI back before I actually had mods and we were just about even. I got him on the launch and held him back til 70/80mph. It's all on the launch.

Last months issue on GMHP have what they call a frugal Formula with CAI and Flowmaster and it does 14.4. The car has over 130k and it does pretty good.

Remember a 305 Formula with a stick is slightly quicker or the same as a GTA.

A 16 or 17 is entirely possible with the TBI 305, I've beaten one in my 3.1 twice and he still wants to run 'one more time'. The thing about third gen f-bodies is that you never know how it's been treated, and with 11 years on the youngest of our cars there are almost always some miles on it. If it's the 305 with TBI you'll spank it around and then call him Shirley, if it's the TPI you can take him with a good launch. But if it's the L98 and he's done just exhaust and intake and in ok condition, he'll leave you behind.
