More near stock times but not as bad as you would think
More near stock times but not as bad as you would think
So i went back to the track today with the same mods as i had before (a dynomax superturbo muffler) and ran a new best. I actually learned how to launch my car perfectly today and i dont think this time is bad at alllll for a basically stock 2000 v6 firebird:
R/T - .893
60' - 2.152
330 - 6.267
1/8 - 9.672 (not my quickest of the day)
mph - 72.42
1000 - 12.617
1/4 - 15.112
mph - 92.28
so what do u guys think?

That is a great time!!! I hope that my bird that is basically the same as you, cat and true 3' edlebrock exhaust, can do the same as you. Great Runs!!!
i have it video taped and i have the slip to prove it....i dotn know how i can prove my mods other than you beleiving me....haha i cant beleive i got the bs flag thrown up on something like this
I just cannot belive that you got a 3.8 and do a 15.1 with only a FRIGGIN MUFFLER! You must be like 5lbs and have your car gutted! Im not tring to piss on your parade but I just cant let it get through to my ego that you ran a 15.1 with a muffler.
i definately have 3.42's and no, my car is automatic but i was brake torqueing anywhere between 1000 to 1300 rpms on that run...not sure exactly where, probably around 1200...i just hooked right away and took off...the cold weather helped too even though my car kept running worse times as i went on throughout the day even though i never ran higher than a 15.3
I thought you had a manual, because of your trap speed. The weather and sealevel must be nice up there in Chicago. Trapping 92 mph in an automatic is damn good for a near stock car. I have trouble trapping out at 90, sometimes 89.

quote:
I still find that to be awesome, but also hard to believe. What's your secret?

stock converter will give a higer trap speed cause of the lower str... i bet if i put my stock verter in i colud gain 3mph in the 1/4 but i might have a slower ET
thats preaty good I wonder when I add my 3.42's what my time will be ? lets hope iam going to hit mid 15with the mods I have
Canadian made metelicGreen 1995 3.4 M5 FireBird
mods:(NEW)-->Jetchip stage 2 ,K&N Cold Air Intake DynoMax ExuastCat back oh yea dont have a cat,Underdrive Pullies, headers
Next mods:fuc the v6 and get a Lt1
I saw your car run. You had a great mph and from the times I saw you were in the low 15's all day. We will have to meet up next time we head to the track! Your car looked sweet! I still like the black ones the best. Nice times
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
