I will have my car done by the end of this month, hopefully. My car was broken into and the airbags were stolen, i figured might as well make a few runs with them out along with other weight reduction. Will having the airbags and modules not hooked up mess up my pcm? It will be programmed for the other things i have done and im afraid not having the derm modules hooked up might mess my pcm up, then after i do put the bags and modules in will the pcm or anything get messed up? thanka all

From what I have learne so far:
To disable airbags and prevent codes there is a yellow colored wire in that area that must be dissconnected. Any and all yellow wires.
Don't quote me on this because I have not witnessed this with my own eyes.
This is something you must be very careful with.
Once mine are removed I'll post any and all info regarding this.
I'm told drivers side is 7-8 lbs, Pass side w/ brackets can be close to 20 lbs.Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

air bag system is seperate from the PCM..
That air/bag light on the cluster is indicated from the air bag system, pcm has no clue if the air bags are working or not.
I hope to eventually take my bags out as well.Keith - Chicago<br /><a href=\"http://www.hptuners.com\" target=\"_blank\">HP Tuners - PCM Reprogramming</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.dxsoftware.com/magnus/\" target=\"_blank\">97 Firebird V6 to LS1 swap</a><br /><b>V8 9.967@132.78</b> 1.322 60\' NA Heads/Cam<br /><b>V8 10.295@128.48</b> 1.363 60\' NA Cam Only<br /><b>V8 10.987@119.31</b> 1.422 60\' NA Stock Internals<br /><b>V6 13.674@98.22</b> NA<br /><b>V6 12.394@104.91</b> N20 100HP

Is there a place to get a dummy airbag cover for the drivers steering wheel? and when i do decide to put the bags back in will i have problems with them deploying or not deploying if i dont disconnect the yellow pin or wire? or can i just basically take them and the modules out for now then put them in later with no serious problems? thanks guys. Is it possible to drive w/o the complete dash?Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

Go to www.ls1tech.com
Look for a sponsor named Billings or something.
They sell dummy covers to be used
I honestly don't know electrical stuff or air bag related info.
You could always ask the guys at billings. They make kick *** hard core f body parts!Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
