• Looking for 14s...

no it's not a pipe dream, but a reality. I'm going Friday to the track. I need to know what should I do besides remove the spare tire/jack and go in there with the check gages light for fuel !

I have Cooper Cobra 245/50/H16s all around at 35psi. Last time I lowered the tire pressure it did NOT help my 60' but it slowed me down in the long run. Any other ideas on how to get traction. Even on the streets now if I floor it at 10/15mph I usually chirp the tires. My best 60' was a 2.11 and last time I went all 4 runs were 2.12x so I can consistently launch it but HOW can I get a 2.0x? That plus my extra power I feel can put me in the 14s.

Last time I was running constant 15.2s...

Are you getting any wheelhop? I got alot of wheelhop before I got LCAs. Now with LCAs, I don't get any wheelhop and also get better traction.

LCA's Are the $hit!! Best 105.00 dollars I spent for my car.. I can launch on the street on street tires at 2,000rpms, with my Lsd the 2nd best 100.00 I spent, with little or no trackion loss.. The only time I went to the track I went 15.224 @ 91.66 mph with a 2.465 60' time and a r/t of a .865.. That was without the LSD, Control arms, Brackets, and High flow cat. On the street I could only launch at 800 without wheel hop and loss of trackion.. Now when I get my gears and head to the track I should be in the mid 14's on motor.. My goal is 14.6 @ 93mph.. The LCA's and LSD probably dropped my 60' by .3.. Thats like .5 tenths gain on the E/T.. But who knows. I have those crappy Firehawk tires that are hard as hell so I still might not get any tracion ..

ok any advice for traction with stock LCA? I can't do any mods between now and Friday but if you come up with some neat/cool idea, let me know. Will this tire pressure thing really work? Last time it hurt me...maybe I did it wrong.

basically true.
and you dont want to go with your check gages light on unless they sell gas at the track.

and if those are the only mods you have listed in the sig, i dont see a 14 just yet. even 15.2 is pretty good for those mods.

u can raise the front tire PSI to 45 to reduce friction even more..and dont lower the rear tire PSI any...it wont help 60' and it will slow you down on the big end...

I see it. It's all on his traction and launch.

you are obviously an intake/exhaust 14 second 1/4 mile groupie. other than that, there are no power or traction mods to help in the quest. hell if he said i am running next time on drags, then i would say maybe, but those rotors and strut bar arent going to help at the trak. and plugs, well everybody has plugs and i have never heard of anybody shaving a .1 off thier ET cause of plugs. unless they NEEDED a tune up, but with a 15.2 with intake and exhaust, he looks like he doesnt need a tune up.

ok some background...I was running 15.3s for a while, then I added more mods...ran 15.6...realized I need a tune up...got back down to consistent 15.2s (15.21, 15.25, 15.24) and now I've added the high flow cat (which definately helped my topend A LOT). I'm feeling 15.0 without a doubt but I need to get my 2.1 60' down to a 2.0 60' at a crappy track. With that and a little bit of luck I'm sure I can pull a 14.9x.

LOL. I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not, but that's all I have with the exception of LCAs. It can be done.

intake and exhaust only runs 14s-i know it can be done. the houston guys rub it in my face all the time. but there is no way a high flow cat will net you .2. JUST NO WAY. if that was the case i would be in the 13s.
i had 14.4
but now i have 3.73, lets say those are good for .2. and i also have high flow cat and 2 3/4 i pipe, say those are good for .2. that takes me down to 14 flat, but now i also have the maft+ and hpp3 and headers, lets say those are good for .1. that would net me 13.9 with your calculations.
i dont want to knock you down, i say good luck! just dont be dissapointed if you dont get 14s modded as you are.
