    This is the way I see it. Used to be I thought it was easy for mildly modded V6's to go high 14's. Hell there were those stories about people doing it stock. But then I actually took my car to the track. I have very high 14's now, but it's not like you can just expect to put mods X and Y and get a certain time. A lot of it is shear experience. A lot of it is the track. Some of it is luck, and some of it is the car.

        all I need is .2sec off my ET. I'm at a 15.213 best. If I can nail that 60' to a 2.0 instead of 2.1, eat a few less burritos, and hope the cat is worth .1 I'll be smooth sailing

          dude. .2 is a lifetime at the track. some pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for .2. i am not saying it is impossible, but if you had your car tweeked already for 15.2, then it only becomes a lot harder to tweek it more without adding more mods.
          6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

            agreed! :D I'm just trying to be a bit "hopeful." Heck when I installed my FTRA I thought I was really flying and I went from 15.3 to 15.6...needed a damn tuneup (e.g. burnt wires/bad plugs)...it was hard enough getting my damn car back to 15.2.

            Knowing my luck I'll still be running 15.2, if not worse. :( I'm honestly looking for a low 15.1...maybe 15.0. However 14s are NOT out of the question...remember the intake/exhaust 14s groupies! [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

                  As you get faster, those 1/10's are harder to get. sure, a stock car could drop 2-3 1/10's w/ a hpp3, but that's cuz it's already running high 15's. u can see 2 1/10's w/ a whisper lid or a FTRA on a stock car also, but u won't see that gain on an already modded car, u'll see less. basically what I'm saying is, u can just add all the 1/10's together and assume ur gonna drop a half second up to a whole second w/ 5 or 6 bolt-on mods. not on our cars. The biggest gains you will see will be from mods that improve our launch. This means suspension, chassis, gears, torque converters or clutches, and tires. dropping 1/10 on your 60ft will get u possibly 2/10's off ur 1/4 time.

                    I wish I could have cut a 2.11 60' on street tires. w/o seeing a full time slip I can't offer too much advice.

                    But given that you are in florida you definitely need a fan switch and a 160 tstat.

                    Then I would look at when & how your car shifts. If your car shifts at 5600 then your losing out some there.

                      I can't get traction tho off the line...if I did I'd be looking at great 60'.

                        Sweet someone else with cooper cobras!

                        do not run them low, in the rear, i run 45ish in the fornt and 35ish in the rear, sometiems 32 in the rear depending on track prep.

                        jsut get a nice launch and you shoudl be fine.

                            I upped my rev limiter to 6000 and I shift around 5800 now, it feels a stronger thru the gears when racing now, not a lot, but noticable.

                                dude that sucks, but it happens to the best of us. at least you didnt run a 16.5 @ 78 mph in front of thousands of people.
