  • Back from the track!!! New User Name Request!!!!

My request for new username is.......
    12secondv6willneverbecome11secondv6becausehespinsa llthedamntime!!!!!!

Sigh, it is what I expected.
    Skinnies at 42 psi
    BF drag's at 17 psi
    Race weight of 3330 pounds
I was 120+ pound heavier than normal.
Extra weight came from passenger front seat, 2 nitrous bottles, jump pack etc.

Engine temp was up around 210, typically I keep it around 165-170. Outside temp was T shirt weather so it was much warmer outside. I was having starter/ battery in trunk issues and I had to keep the car running for prolonged periods of time.

    I spun EVERY SINGLE run!!!!

    r/t.....800
    60......1.877
    330.....5.202
    1/8.....8.087
    mph.....84.84
    1000....10.598
    1/4.....12.740
    mph.....104.98
    Spun A LOT!!!

    r/t.....1.737
    330.....5.064
    1/8.....7.955
    mph.....84.97
    1000....10.452
    1/4.....12.569
    mph.....106.33
Spun some more and the nose end yanked so violently I almost ended up in the other lane!

    r/t.....723
    60......1.776
    330.....5.075
    1/8.....7.930
    mph.....85.87
    1000....10.404
    1/4.....12.511
    mph.....106.33
This run would have given me new best times but top end the car died and check engine light came on flashing and codes P0300 and P0336 came up :( Again, I spun a lot!

Well, not wanting to wuss out in the High Performance Pontiac Event I turned the bottle off and ran n/a

    mph.....74.26
    1000....12.049
    1/4.....14.499
    mph.....91.99
Eh, extra weight, increased engine temp, and hotter outside temps made me slow :(

    1/4.....14.556
    mph.....92.02
    See above remarks

First round in the event. Front brakes failed when converter was stalled to 3,000 rpm's. I creapt straight through the staging lights and red lit. I did not completely floor it when

    mph.....74.46
    1000....12.347
    1/4.....14.787
    mph.....92.40

I got OWNED first round!!! Red light!!!
I found that brake fluid had bypassed the plastic cover and leaked out all over the place???

    Ohhhh well. Time to investigate:
    Engine code
    Misfires
    Brake fluid issue

Time to order 26 x 11.5 x 16 mickey thompson et streets next week!!!

if the admin says that name you request is too long, try "cause" instead of "because" in the name.

          I didn't expect 11's on drag's
I am happy about the 12.5's though.
I had many things against me.
I have patience.....but it is wearing thin!!!

Other than the bad conditions and your spinning, those are still awesome times. Both juice and NA are great.

Sorry to hear that you didn't hit 11's. I was trying to be positive but I guess it didn't work lol. I'm sure you'll hit them someday.

Those 12.5s are really good times. As you said, you weren't expecting 11s on those tires, so don't be too disappointed. I bet you can get traction with the et streets and hit 11s, good luck.

Sometimes I just get bummed out because I race w/ Ls1's that have: heads n cam, nitrous, turbo, supercharger, stroker motor and so on (or even a combo of them) and everyone is in the 11's.

ET streets will be ordered shortly.
                            I haven't decided between 26 x 10.5 x 16's or 26 x 11.5 x 16's.

I might be going back asap in n/a condition but back to hard core light weight set up

do the 10.5's, 11.5's will absolutely kill your mph's. may not seem like much but it will be.
