Went to the track (Maryland Int'l Raceway) yesterday, my first time drag racing. I've autocrossed many a time, but that's a different story.
I was the only V6 representin', except for a TTA, shame on you all for not coming out! It was the 2nd Modern Fbody Shootout, brought to you by the F-Body Hideout.
I ran 12 times, two of which were on the .400 pro tree. Now that was fun ... not! hehe
Cut some decent mid-500 lights all morning, which helped me jump on the V8 guys ... until, of course, the little "Hey Rob. Knock knock, two more cylinders" kicked in, and they beat me by a few seconds at the end of the track. Either way, I was happy.
Ran a best of:
15.347 @ 89.97 (2.230)
1/8th came at 9.855 @ 70.65, 1000' at 12.837
So I'm happy for my first time, with my mods, peg-legging on my 711's. Next time I'll at least disconnect the FSB, maybe take out seats or something. And I want my LSD installed!
I did touch 90's on the day: 15.563 @ 90.01, but I seem to be an 89's guy. Did several 2.2ish 60's ...
