• My quest for 14s...results!!!

Well first off I'll let you see the videos of both runs...traction was horrible (you'll see I launched light on the daytime vid). My track sucks and for some oddball reason I was hitting the revlimiter on the 2-3 shift...never did it before I got to the track and never when leaving the track...sometimes I wish I had a 5-speed...

previous times were 15.2-15.3 all at 88mph + trap speeds...oh well

Oh I beat the 1st guy to the 1/8th mile.

Run # 1 15.53 @ 86.86

Run # 2 (15.53 @ 86.98)

Maybe I should bracket race...

BTW, I wasn't the ONLY person running slow. Some LS1ers were pulling 14s and out of all the V6 F-bodies I came with the fastest ran 15.79 @ 85 so I wasn't too disappointed.

Are you able to try another track, cause I remember you and a few others complaining about this track.

(you've probably already read this, but...) scroll down to dominic's post he dropped a lot off of his time after switching tracks, though I know for some people this can't be done. NOnetheless, most of us I think acknowledge that you do have a 14 second car there.

they work. Couldn't download or couldn't play? They are encoded with the Divx 4 Codec...so download divx4 or greater (www.divx.com) and it'll work

dont intend to be rude, but you (generally speaking...all people) are not a 14 second car untill you have the timeslip. if that was not the case, i would have a 13 second car. i dont go around saying it though cause i dont have a 13 sec timeslip.

don't believe it until you see it? ;) j/k...I'm still a low 15sec car IMO since I've ran my fastest time multiple times.

When I went to the track there was a 2001 SS camaro that went 14.5, 14.2, 15.2, and 14.3.. No in that same sence I guess he has a 14 second car!! Not true because LS1 go 12.8-13.4 bone stock.. It depends on the driver.. The reason his LS1 didnt go at least 13's is becuase of the driver.. he was dumping the clutch and spinning through 1st and 2nd gear..

are you saying I can't drive? I care to differ. I know no one will admit they're a bad driver but trust me I can drive. My worse 60' is a 2.2 and that was on bald tires...my reaction times are always under .7 and I can run consistently...now about my track and car cooperating...that's a whole other story! seems like he has a 14 sec car to me.
bAck in my day when i raced this LS1 trans am, he ran a 14.6 and i ran a 14.5 (granted it was his first time down the track). that TA had 2 things he had to live with.
1. he got beat be a 6.
2. he had a 14 sec car.

why? cause he had proof of them both. when people go up to him and ask him "what does she run" he cant say 12.8 because car and driver and 1998 silverbird say i can because i have an LS1. he had to say i just ran a 14.6 and here is my timeslip to prove it.

i'll even say that if someone else--a 100 lb midget was to drive his car and get a 12 second timeslip, then i would gladly admit that he has a 12 second car.

if your scenerio where reality, then 12secondV6 would be calling himself 11secondV6 right now.

That'll be a good way to con someone into racing you; telling them your car is slower than what it really is. In reality, we all know a LS1 isn't a 14 second car.

I think 12.8 is pushing it for a stock LS1, mid-low 13s are about right, but not high 12s. Just because the owner of an LS1 doesn't have a timeslip better than 15.0 doesn't mean he has a 15-second car, it just means he is a 15-second driver with an LS1.

Or he could say, "I'm not sure, haven't taken it to the track yet." ;)

J/k, I know what you meant. I didn't mean he could claim 14 OUTLOUD or brag about that on the net, I just meant he most likely has the POTENTIAL give the right conditions. Have faith, ye of little faith :D
