The time 13.7@97.6 is what I found out my father's cruiser bike can run in the 1/4mi. I realize the only way it's a 13sec vehicle is because it can launch like a bat out of hell out of the hole. What kind of cars do you think it could keep up with from a roll?

Anything that traps in the 97mph range would be a safe guess. There are other things to consider which will vary depending on what speed you go from. Bikes have a terrible drag coefficeint compared to cars. I wouldn't be surprised if cars that trap signifcantly lower wouldn't be able to hang/win once the speeds start getting higher. In terms of how hard bikes can accelerate their top speed sucks in comparison. Just look at the bikes that are capable of running 9/10 sec 1/4mi that can't top 200mph.

There are a lot of other factors when considering the top speed of a motorcylce.
And their acceleration doesn't suck in comparison to top speed how can a 10.8sec quarter mile and 190mph top speed suck? (Just ask pigglyroot)

It does suck in terms of acceleration when compared to cars.

Take for instance a Porsche 911 Turbo and Dodge Viper. Both are high 11 low 12 sec cars, but there top speeds approach the 190mph range, the same top speed of bikes capable of running 9's. The McLaren F1 is capable of reaching 240mph and only (I use only lightly in this case) runs low 11's. A low 11 sec bike will not come close to this speed.

It all lies in aerodynamics, which during a 1/4mi run doesn't play a big factor since a majority of the time is spent at low speeds. Once the bike is moving it has lot more to fight against. Since air resistance is exponetial it only gets worse.

First things first, I don't know a lot about bikes.

The drag coefficient of a Hayabusa seems to be close to that of an F-body. If memory serves, fbodys have something like a .31 or something like that. According to the first webpage I found, http://www.qsl.net/n5mya/aero.html they tested the Hayabusa at a .313 and a top speed of about 190 as well.
And according this page http://autos.msn.com/vip/heraudover....ge&model=Viper The Viper has a .40

I agree with you that areodynamics play a big roll in top speeds, but there are other factors as well: HP, TQ, gearing...

Easy on the top speeds, the 200 mph club of the ECTA is mostly bikes, i hear.

I've seen videos of bikes that go a lot faster than 200 mph. What Brock is saying makes sense though.
