  • help still stuck at a 16.2

this will prlly get moved but dont know where this falls exactly. ok tonight i went to the track and got to try the never converter out. 3200 tci. my first runs were teribble. but after that i figured out i can only launch at 2500 on street tires w/o to much spin i never did hook up half *** . my 60 foot times droped from 2.5 to anywhere from 2.3 to 2.4. buy my mph also dropped by about 1.5 yet i still ran alot of 16.2's for the night i only usually get one or so a night. anyways my question is what exactly is wrong is this to much stall for my car. not hooking up right or what

Strange as this may sound, try launching from idle until you get better tires, just punch it a little, it will probably still lose traction, but not nearly as bad as stalling it up. Those 60's are too high. I pulled a 2.3X 60' with the stock converter, and that's not too good. I've tried launching mine from idle and it launches a lot harder than the stock converter did from stall. Keep in mind its just a temporary technique until you get new tires, then you want to take advantage of all that stall.

Did you lose traction launching at 2500? I can't imagine how you pulled 2.3-2.4 60's launching from 2500 unless you spun quite a bit.

what other mods have you done? I launch the GP at 2k after a mild staging, and seems to hookup good. Not an F-body but still a six ;)

          what's your trap speed anyway?

Cody, noone's running their best times right now at Idalou or Dolaca! It's friggin hot, and the DA is 4200+ easy. Gotta catch a nice cool day, or wait towards the end of the racing season when it cools off ALOT, and you'll see betetr times.

Nope, last night I was the ONLY V6 F-body running at Idalou in the 16's...Other in 17's and even 18's! I ran 16.0 NA as a best last night. Newer stock GT Stangs were running mid 15's. Trust me, our altitude blows.

First no they aren't....They have a long history of impressive results. There are many LS1's running them cutting sub 1.5 second 60's... And yes Ross, Mike whooped me! hahaha.
