I could spin my "one wheel wonder" when I had 3.08s. Just stall up to 1500-1700 and stomp it. You'll spin.

dont forget to keep ur turn your traction control off. when i'm timing my self from 0 to 60mph, im usually a lot faster with it off, almost a seccond. And for launches i found it best to hold the break down all the way w left foot, floor it, then just let go of the break.

I am the Launch Master..lol (uh, NO!) Jk, but I usually stall up to 2k rpm while holding the brake with my left foot, then just let off the brake and go wot. I am still debating on shifting my auto tranny, sometimes it feels like its faster off the line if I have in it 1 then shift through the gears. But thats still something I'm working on.

so thats a no go with the traction-contro?

you don't get any spin because traction control actually uses the brakes to stop spinning
all in all, it makes your launches slower than if you actually just get a good launch with out it

stall until your tires are on the verge of spinning...

If that's the case I can hold it til past 2200+ (gages are inaccurate, but do they differ fromcar to car?) without the tires moving, but when I let go of the brake while stomping it my car goes...really...slow until about 15, 20 mph-probably just bogging down (or just the 3.08?). If I'm in gravel or a wet road then it ONLY spins.OTherwise it's too slow to spin. I've tried holding it at 1500rpm and it did the same, of course I don't practice too much.

Do you HAVE to wait until the tires (or tire ;) ) are slipping while stalling, or is stalling at 2K+ just bogging it down in my case?

[sorry for adding more questions but I'm just wondering ]

you should stall it down to the point where it's not going to bog and where you're getting very little tire slip if any at all.

bogging the engine just makes your launch slower.

Thanks for the responses so far

Don't shift! That is much worse on a transmission and the tranny can shift a hellova lot faster than you can. Ask anyone who runs fast times in an auto, no one shifts, throw it in D/OD (or 3, doesn't really matter, unless you're heavily modified at wot you won't be shifting out of 3 anyway by the time you hit the 1/4 mi mark) and floor it!
