    First, I gotta say it's hella loud, especially on the highway.

    I ran a total of 5 passes. The first two was with the cutout open. I ran low 15.0s @ 89.6 on both. The last three I closed it and ran a 15.0 @ 89.8, another 15.0 @ 90 and a 14.92 @ 90. Overall, I think it didn't help nor hurt, but it will remain closed because it's just too loud for me.

    On another note, the last 4 passes was in bracket racing. I put 14.99 as my dial-in time. I made it all the way to the 4th run and beat my dial-in time with a 14.92 :mad: But, out of 30-40 cars, I got 5th overall. ;)

        It rattles the interior a lot at that location too. Mine is at the back now on the pipe right before the muffler. It sounds ok, but makes a rattle at high rpm. I don't like it, I'll eventually have it moved or taken off.

          hey shortdog, thanks for the numbers on the cutout. i guess that sort of shows how well the flowmaster flows.

            flowmasters flow crappy, the 3" exhaust probably makes up for it...my buddies Formula w/a 3" cat-back and flowmaster gained 28hp and 31ft.lbs. from opening his cutout(right before muffler)...and on LS1.com most lose about 10-15 hp running through the flowmaster compared to opening their cut-out...

                I would think that as close to the manifold as possible would be the best location. It seems to me that you would want it where it could evacuate the exhaust gasses when they where the hottest and traveling with the most velocity. After the cat and right before the mufflers seems like a waste of time to me.

                I could be wrong though.
