    I heard stock 2.8's run mid 17's

I swaped the steel wheels for aluminum Z-28's, uprgraded cap and rotor, accel 8mm wires, accel super coil, platnum plugs, gutted cat converter, z-28 muffler (came with the car), all new fluids and filters and the motor runs strong, all the free mods, no power options at all, lots of extra weight redution, 3,200 ish pounds maybe??? rear seats pulled, spare and jack pulled for track runs. On WOT runs I can get up to 5500 rpm going into second. I can also launch on the street at 2500 (on a brake launch the motor will not let me go past 3k) with almost no tire chirp (nice sized tires). Do you guys think I could run a 16.9???? I am going to the track on the 30th

I ran a 17.2 in my 2.8L I think was a looong time ago, muffler only, ghetto ram air, and ignition.

A local guy I talk to that has a 97 z28 used to have a 2.8L and he said it ran a 15.9 once.
